sand i never tried ive always used sawdust. pretty similar to MDF by the time it dries. none the less i hope it works out for ya..

Yeah, I'd only re-do it to weld a steel cage frame.

I was going to use concrete, but Doug said to use sand and resin instead

Several extreme vehicles are using sand mixed with resin instead of concrete. It's extremely strong. Concrete is bad about cracking unless it's reinforced.

If you need more resin, boat yard resin is cheap and works well. It's "economy finish" so it won't be as well suited for making door panels or anything like that, but works fine for reinforcement
