Ever get your truck back? Any news on what happened to it?

how bad is it braking at lights full tilt? im guessing you probably cant or the engine will die lol do your rpms drop even when you're going 50 and the bass hits?
Braking isn't as good because of all the weight, obviously. It's a truck though, so it's not too bad.

You're so worried about the engine dying, lol. My throttle is electronically controlled, so that's not going to happen. The computer sees that the rpm drops, and it kicks it back up. I have no problem with it so far. At idle, I now don't drop below 14.6v when cold. Hot I drop to 14.4ish

The gas pedal isn't connected to the throttle. It's a potentiometer that goes to the ECU, which tells the throttle valve actuator (or whatever it's called with this type of system) how much to open it up. This is annoying when you have trouble codes and the computer "reduces engine power" so you can't go over 1500rpm and it won't shift out of first gear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Has happened to me one time

Looks nice... Soon as my 22" rims n tires sell I'm buying my quad bracket
Thanks, I've still got the rims/tires from my car in the garage. Might try to sell those, I'd forgotten about them.

your alternators are controlled differently, all my truck does is compensate after it drops. it's pretty annoying to say the least
Alternators controlled differently? They're just internally regulated and not connected to the PCM. That doesn't have to do with the truck setting idle RPM. The computer is programmed to not let it drop below 500rpm and not send it over 700ish rpm at idle. When it dips a little, the truck revs up to compensate. I am thinking about getting a tuner or seeing if they can raise my idle RPM with an electronic tool at the dealership though.

dealership wont do it, i have a diablo tuner on my truck. i paid $270 for it iirc

i can be idling up to a light foot off the brake and the truck literally "brakes" when the bass hits

Mine doesn't slow down too much when the bass hits. The alternators aren't putting that much load on it.

There was one time I was on a hill stopped and my truck would just barely roll forwards at idle. When the bass hit, it would stop, then would start rolling again afterwards, lol

That has nothing to do with the computer.

When the belt slips it causes the engine throttle back so it doesnt break the cam.

This makes the brakes engage... check your belt and lower the idle rpm.

Cold start rpm can be left higher so it can girn the alts on.
