Alarm sensing a door open.

Yeah I would check the connection of the alarm to the factory wiring. Check voltage at factory wire (which sounds like you have already done, just being thorough) check after the connection on the alarm side and check at the brain. We can go from there.

Put the door trigger to a constant 12v and arm the system. This will eliminate the fact that a voltage under 12v is causing the alarm to false.

I am aware that it has been working the whole time but sometimes electronics act funny after awhile. Either way it sounds like its a bad unit but if it doesnt false with a full 12v there could also be another problem.

A door trigger should be able to hold 12v no matter what as a lot of cars still have 12v door triggers but I see what you are saying.

Do you have the domelight wire (black/white on alarm) hooked up to anything?

Another thing I noticed was there is a domelight delay in option 10. You could try turning that on. I have seen cases where a domelight delay was programmed and then all of a sudden the unit reverted back to original programming.

Not necessarily the case but you never know. I am not all that familiar with the caprices as far as domelight delay so maybe Noah could provide a better answer on that.

The door trigger is negative, it should rest at ground when open...
Check for continuity with ground, also... did we do anything for the xtra trigger of the back glass... I think we did?

If that is tied in with the door trigger that could be the problem. There could also be a separate trigger that it is tied into off the alarm and thus not being the problem. Tough to tell without seeing how the alarm is installed.
