Not a noob, but apparently brainfarting somewhere. 562t and a 91 chevrolet f/s 1500 4wd automatic. grounded the neutral safety. grounded the white/blue wire. hooked everything up the way it tells to do. no lock or unlock. no remote start. although when you press buttons on the fob, you can hear the brain responding or trying. is it required to use relays for the door locks, it doesnt say that it is. not sure what else you may need to know, but please help. thanks and sorry for the ignorance.

un ground the white/blue that is for if your adding this unit to an alarm. you need to 5wire the door looks if it is a 2 door model which needs a relay and if it is a 4 door just hook the wires directly to the lock and unlock of the truck. and is the antenna plugged in all the way?

ungrounded the white/blue still nothing. and i just about got the door locks working. yes the antenna is plugged in, you can hear the brain respond and the led flash. thanks, ill be waiting for responses.

you have to use a relay to switch the polarity from positive to negative on both the lock and unlock. try regrounding the nuetral safety wire. that was my issue with my remote start. recheck the hood pin and the tach.

i tried this diagram and it half a$$ works, it will then begin to do whatever it wants when you hit the lock or unlock button, but manually using the lock button int he door panel, it operates correctly, so it must be something im wiring.

the hood pin wire is grounded at the same spot as the neutral safety, and the tach wire is hooked directly to the coil. im pretty dang sure, i got it right. i was able to get the brain to learn the tach, or at least the led said it did.

thanks for your help!! ill be sitting here waiting, im out of ideas, i will run down there and try to reground it though.

i ran a new ground directly to the metal frame under the dash. still nothing. unhooked the white/blue wire.

door locks, work great the first or second push of the button, then they either half way move and will not move from there with the fob. the door panel switch after a few hits will make them work correctly again, then the fob doesnt work at all.

checked my grounds, checked my power. all checks out fine. i must be missing a wire somewhere or something. please help with ideas and thanks!!

well un ground your hood pin because that is your remote start issue. put that hood pin switch in becuase when the hood is closed it will be pushed down with the metal on the bottom not making connection allowing the circuit to be open and when the hood is up the pin will be up so the metal is making contact with the bolts so the circuit is closed not allowing the remote start to operate. did your unit come with a 451m? if not go to the local shop and pick one up that will plug into your unit and then you hook up the 2 wires to the lock and unlock and it works. i used to have one but took it apart and broke it.

that took care of it, thanks man!! i knew it had to be something simple, i just assumed that the switch was making ground. got the windows working too, i had used the actuator wires. thanks again!!! the range doesnt seem too good, for the little i have tried. anything to add to the system to make it better?

make sure the antenna wire is not bundled up, if you have extra push it under the headliner and then make sure the antenna is peaking just below the blue tint on the windsheild. your range should be like 300 yards
