I have an ext. cab toyota tacoma with a kenwood excelon head unit, and Rockford fosgate speakers all around and my ol girl is gonna get me a sub for Christmas i wonder what would be a good set up to go with. I want sound quality and I want it to sound good and deep when it's loud but my price range is 130-175 ???? I want to do one 12 inch sub in a ported box. Around 300-500 rms power would be ideal I believe. I like loud subs but I don't want to sacrifice sq.

I am buying the amp hat would be a good one to go with??

250 or so on amp and is the guy above saying 2.25 cu ft ported with 2 subs or 1. And dcons are only rated at 300 rms tho right

Yeah but they'll handle more in the right box with an unclipped signal. RF r500/1 is a solid budget amp.

someone needs to try out that Tidal Audio sub and do a review //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Its identical to the ID 12. TSP's are the same and all.

OP I have a pair of 8's Im selling. They are XBL^2 based motor. Ive always been a fan of multiple sub setups. They would come in right in the middle of your price range.

It's be nice to run that dcon at a solid 400 watts what would help to limit clipping?? I have heard dayton ho's are good along with dcons and arc audio fd12's just some more ideas to go with would be great

It seems like your parameters are good for a Dayton HO12 (either SVC or DVC) subwoofers sold by parts-express.com. These subwoofers have good sound quality but with average or below average sensitivity, specially in a sealed box. However, they work very well in a relatively small ported box.

Most of the time I would recommend dual 2 ohm for single sub set ups or single 4 ohm if you have to go that way

My vote would be the Incriminator audio lethal injection or I series or the dayton ho for what your asking for in that power range
