Im looking for some subs for my new setup. Will either be 4 8s, 2 10s, or 2 12s, all sealed, and most likely under the rear seat of a Silverado firing down.

Highs are 2 sets of Focal 165VR Polyglass 6.5 components. Amp is a DLS Ultimate A5, which gives 500rms @ 2 ohms.

Shallower is better, but doesnt necessarily need to be a shallow mount sub. Looking for some good sound, but also want nice output. I was looking at a couple choices, but the new IDQs look pretty nice and I hear nothing but good about them. I think 2 IDQ10s would be pretty sweet.

Anyone have any other ideas?

The idq's would work nicely. THe Arc KAR series would work nicely on that power as well. I run a pair of the Kar 10's in a 1.5 cuft sealed enclosure on 600w for the pair. Output is quite surprising, musicly they are very accurate. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

TREO TSX10.xx

My I suggest you fire those up and not down. Just my two cents, but I've built 7 boxes for this truck trying out positions and the like and found for me, that down firing was one of the worst. It shook the hell out of the truck for what little sound I was getting out of it.

What type of Silverado do you have? Ext cab, crew cab? Year?

I have a Y2K Sierra ext cab. I raised the rear seat up 2" to fit two 12's in there firing forward, and ported firing towards the back wall. LMK

For what year?

'99-06 and 07 OBS I can measure anything you need. But If you're looking at an 07 NBS or the 08-09's I wouldn't have a clue.

Me personally I'd go w/just a ext cab NBS or OBS. There's still plenty of room back there for full sized adults. Plus you can raise the rear seat up 2" as I did.

My Step-dad has a std cab, I have an ext cab and my brother has a crew cab. So I can get to all 3 w/ease.

As for NBS, I could find out but it'd take a few days. Now that I think about it, my brother-in-law has a NBS crew cab. He lives 2 hours away, but we're going there tomorrow for fathers day. I'll measure if I can remember and he shows up in his truck not his wifes car.

It will definately be a 99-06 body style, not a newer one

I was looking at the Mag/BMs but to run 2 BMs they wouldnt even be moving. I definately want to run 2 subs, so its symmetrical. Down the road I could always go louder as I have a Clarion DPX11500 that does around 2,000rms, but for now I want to try a more SQ oriented setup. That being said, 2 10s or 4 8s would probably be best as I would like to put the amp under the seat as well. I will put a trim pannel so that you dont see any wires, and just make it look as clean as possible.

When I want to go louder, I think 6 8L7s firing foward on 2 Clarions would be pretty sick.

Thinking about it... I could run a single 12 though. If I did a single 12 it would be ported.

What would be the best option? 4 8s sealed, 2 10s sealed, or 1 12 ported?

Your going from 24 15's in a van to only 2 to 4 drivers in a extended cab ? I though your next set up would be something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

This is just small setup going in a truck that Im going to use to trailer a van that will be MUCH louder than my last setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
