they are tuned to different frequencies, from what i hear they can be peaky, but I never played with one

the sub fires into chamber#1 that pressure which is tuned via the port effects the tuning of the low end or chamber#2

these boxes are made to play a really narrow freq band but yeild a very nice +db boost at the tuned freq of chamber1 and 2.

Well got it up and running but not quite finished, still need the 45's inside and the port openings radiused but it already BLOWS the other box away! This thing really is a beast and I have not even tried moving it around yet! Here are some pics...I will try to get a vid or two up in a day or so and then start playing with the placement of the box but I am really impressed, THANKS 80!! Its easily as loud as my brother in laws single 18" death penalty was!

I actualy graphed one of these awhile back for my icon out of curiosity with winisd. If things are tuned right you get a reasonably acceptable flat response in the area your wanting your sub to play.

Of course this is all in the world of make believe, so how it really comes out sounding is up for question. Perhaps I'll try it one day in a home setting (space) once I decide to go IB in my trunk.

Yeah it really sounds pretty good on music too, slightly boomy but really good for the most part even on rock!
