Well here is the custom ordered 1" thick cabinet grade MDF I orded for my latest build, this is going to be a MONSTER I hope! I got 80Inches to design it for me as I have no experience with bandpasses but really wanted to get the most out of my sub. the design is going to look something like this below but I am not sure how I will place it in the truck either ports up or possibly to the side or rear, I will try each to see what works the best and final install it after testing. this is going to replace my current setup whichis a 4cuft tuned to 40Hz with three 4" aeros port up sub at 45* forward that sounds good but I want more! I should have at least most of the build done by sunday evening as I will be out of town Sat but I will keep you all posted as to the progress and vids will be posted when finished. This is going to get around 3500-4000 watts so it should POUND!

nice i cant wait to see this. did he design it for free? if so im gonna have to hit him up, i really want to try a nice 6th or 8th order. i have no idea how to design them though:crap:

Isn't a 6th order more like a ported box firing into a ported box? Not just two different ports with different tuning and a woofer in the middle? Looks like it'll add up to nasty cancellation to me.

One is for the ported chamber behind the sub and the other is a "loading" chamber for the front of the sub if I understand it correctly, the two chambers are tuned so they work together to produce the THUNDA! LOL! I will find out tomorrow how it works hopefully!

Well from what I understand they are tuned together to resonate together and create the sound production you desire, I could be wrong though since I let 80Inches design it and not myself as I only know they are extremely efficient in their tuned frequency range, more so than a std ported enclosure, if done correctly. I got a few pieces cut tonight and should get the rest cut tomorrow and start the glue and screw process! The sub goes in between the two enclosures with the magnet assy going in the larger cavity. I have seen a few of these type of boxes do some serious damage with even a small sub so I know they work if you know what you are doing.....I don't here, but I am sure 80 does!
