BTW...Im going to be testing the Adire Kodas and Seas CA18RNX with my Illusion Audio/Image Dynamics hybrid horns

Can you recommend a hybrid tube /mosfet amp for the front stage set-up and min/max output for rainbows cs365vans so I don't under or overbuy. Same with the 10W6v2

Thanks

I think Profi Vanadiums are an excellent choice for you, spec a 3way set....yummy

As for amps, nothing makes those Rainbows sing like Arc amplifiers, they make a nice combination. The first time i heard Rainbows were on Arc amps a few years ago, i wanted nothing less than that experience since.

If you have a bigger budget for amps i hear nothing but praise for Genesis Dual Mono's on a fronstage.

Sub for SQ....an AltoMobile Falstaff or Rainbow Vanadium to match

Doesnt ADS make a really good SQ component. Also Image Dynamics....SCREW the W-7...There are honeslty like 10 subs id get now before that.......thing.

Isnt the JL W3 have the highest SQ of all JL subs. Effeciency is the highest, response is like 92, 93 db per 1w/1m????????no??? just what i heard

$6,000...OK, I'm a HUGE SQ guy and I have a lot of experience in this department.

The boys were right i n saying...It's BETTER to have OK parts and a GREAT installer than have GREAT parts and a OK installer!!!

If you remeber that, you'll be fine!!!

The good thing here is you have no need for super bass, which gets so expensive due to the cost of multiple amps, multiple subs, electrical upgrades which can get extremly expensive, capacitors, extra dampening etc. This non-need for you in extra bass means you can spend more on the SQ side while maintaining a good install.

Here is some ideas and they are not limited to as such:

HEAD UNIT: Eclipse 8053 (Discontinued model, but has 16volt balanced output signal to be used in conjunction with Zapco's Symbilink connections. This combo gives you incredible clarity and no noise. Ebay this if you have to. A must!! $400

FRONT STAGE: Focal Utopia 165W $800

REAR FILL: Focal Access 165CA $175

AMPS: Zapco 1000.4 (Highs, mids and rear) $700...Zapco 1100.1 (subs) $700

SUBS: 2 JL Audio 10W6v2's $500

BOX: Sealed enclosure @ 1.0 cu.ft. per driver Custom made at a shop $200

EQ/CO: Zapco SX-SL2 Eq/crossover at the dash $ $650

BIG 3 wiring under the hood (price for parts included in wiring)

DAMPENING: SecondSkin or Dynamat $200

CAPACITOR: Alumapro 5 farad capacitor $250

WIRING: All Stinger HP,0 gauge from battery to amps, 16 gauge speaker wire for highs and mids, 12 gauge for subs, Symbilink wiring, connectors, etc. $150

BATTERY: Optima Red Top $175

LABOR...$1,800 ($75 per hour times 24 hours of installing)

Hawaii is NOT cheap as far as I know, so labor at a very good shop will be @ $60-75 per hour. Figure roughly 3 working days to do it all at $75 would be $1800. They have to dampen the doors, hatch area, wiring, Big 3, build a box, install speakers, HU, etc. it's a lot of work and a god shop doesn't rush!

GRAND TOTAL: $6,000

Now, these prices are ballparks mostly, and may have to be altered, but never the less it is approximate. As far as labor 3 days should cut it. There is the chance you may need to upgrade to a high output alternator later on if you need more power. According to my past systems though, you should be fine with that draw, given yo uhave a decent alternator existing. If you would like to finish off your electrical system, pay an additional $350 and get a domenick Irraggi alternator, maybe 220 AMP and call it a day.

This system will provide you with superb SQ, great imaging and staging. The Symbilink connections will provide clear and noise free listening.

I understand that you do not need heavy bass, but with this setup, you will have superb SQ in your JL 10W6v2 subs in a sealed box, which is also for SQ. The 10" size will provide a punchy, quick hitting type bass that will be awesome in combination with your front stage! This type of bass you WILL enjoy, beleive me. It's pure and clear and accurate, not that boomy loud stuff.

Your electrical system would be ideal and ready for this new load of components.

The dampening of your car will provide a rattle free envirement while keeping all the music INSIDE the car as you stated as one of your necessary needs. It also gives your sound a better fullness and you will not be heard nearly as much outside the vehicle.

I've provided a state of the art Zapco SX-SL2 crossover/eq. This is the true ingredient that will give your music the incredible sound. It is very expensive, but to me... the best eq/co in the world for the money!!! It is in a league of it's own. A SUPER must!!! Especially since it's inputs will be Symbilink as well. You'll have a 16 volt signal from head unit, to SX-SL2 to amps, ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!! I know you dont understand, but 16 volt is a ridiculous number poducing unimaginable SQ and effect.

I have heard a similar system to this that I owned, and it is simply stunning and sooo enjoyable!!! you will thank me later, beleive me! You can also upgrade later on and get a good midbass, maybe even bi-amp your highs, better battery, more subs (you WILL want more bass!! Everyone always starts low.lol) You may move up the ladder to the C2K Competition line from Zapco, etc. This is a solid foundation and as you learn, you may upgrade. The best part about the products I have chosen is their resale values are sick!!! you can ebay them at 70% of your money no problem! This allows you to upgrade later on without spending as much.

Anyway, let me know what you think, and I'm sure most of the educated folk on this board would agree for what you need, this is about as good as it'll ever get!!!

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my installer is Bill Acevedo which owns Sounds Impossible in Highlands NJ. He charges $75 an hour.

difference is he is a IASCA, MECA, USACi world finalist as HAS won 1st place in 2001. He is one of the best SQ guys in the world. His tuning and installs are amazing.

Anyway, my point is if it's all about install like I said, then you have to pay for a good installer. I live in NYC and our friend lives in Hawaii where I know everything is super expensive. That's why i came up with that #. Good installer, Hawii, big price!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's BETTER to have OK parts and a GREAT installer than have GREAT parts and a OK installer!!!
this is one of the biggest points to be pointed out in this entire thread.

you have no need for super bass
super bass in a SQ comp will actually loose ya points. i tottally agree with ya here mang

which gets so expensive due to the cost of multiple amps, multiple subs, electrical upgrades which can get extremly expensive, capacitors, extra dampening etc.
lol. a "super bass sytem" can cost just as expensive as a SQ system guy. lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

a really nice HU, the symbilink is a cool feature

FRONT STAGE: Focal Utopia 165W $800
i seriously dont think any speaker in that price range for car audio is worth that price. unless is a fully active threeway frontstage. sorry man.

REAR FILL: Focal Access 165CA $175
rear fill in a sq car? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

AMPS: Zapco 1000.4 (Highs, mids and rear) $700...Zapco 1100.1 (subs) $700
zapco is really nice stuff, but thats seriously on the high price end. i guess NIB + warantee is cool, but i think some better stuff for $1400 for a PAIR of amps is definatly possible

SUBS: 2 JL Audio 10W6v2's $500
great SQ subs here, might be a little expensive for a pair of 10's though. you can prolly get them for cheaper. id prolly go with 12's, but thats just my taste for a bit more output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

BOX: Sealed enclosure @ 1.0 cu.ft. per driver Custom made at a shop $200
unless this is fiberglass and has a cool amprack to pair, $200 is **** for a 2 cube sealed box :uhuh:

EQ/CO: Zapco SX-SL2 Eq/crossover at the dash $ $650
lol, this better be a 3-way stereo active 24db\octave with a 1\3 octave stereo equalizer, and a remote for that price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif - but i bet it can controll the amps too ... so that would be sweet.

BIG 3 wiring under the hood (price for parts included in wiring)DAMPENING: SecondSkin or Dynamat $200

WIRING: All Stinger HP,0 gauge from battery to amps, 16 gauge speaker wire for highs and mids, 12 gauge for subs, Symbilink wiring, connectors, etc. $150
yea, wires can get expensive - but a capicator is NOT somthing he shoud be wasting his money on. period.

BATTERY: Optima Red Top $175
HAHAHHAHAHAHHAH ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE? i can get one for $125 from pepboys or autozon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

LABOR...$1,800 ($75 per hour times 24 hours of installing)
if you did a bit yourself, you could save a hell of alot of money, but labor will be expensive as hell if you have a shop, not to mention a GOOD shop, do it.

Now, these prices are ballparks mostly
hehe i hope so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

actually. it should sound the same, as long as there is no noice induced into the cables - ie, they were installed correctly. balanced 16v is really not "noise free", just not as easy for noise. "noise free" is impossible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif - imo (and quite a few others) balanced 16v is more for show than for anything else.
