so i have a set of infinity kappa 60.2 comp set that i tried to replace today with some CDT audio hd-62 speakers...

the depth of the mount is cool and they're both 6.5" midrangers...

but the cdt's dont fit! both specs tell me that the speakers are 6.5... sound domain tells me it fits my accord '94...

but the cdt speakers are too big! it seems like the speaker itself goes to the rim of the infinity's... but theres the extra metal rim that u gotta screw on with thats too big w/ the CDTs...

whatsup w/ that??

i kno it's old post but it's the same question i have. the cdt's basket is a little bigger than other 6.5's. it won't fit flush on my door, and my door panel won't fit back on right. anything i can do to make it fit? the only alternative i have is to fiberglass some kick's but i wanna avoid that if possible. can i cut the factory grill on the door panel out and make the hole bigger to fit over the speaker and use the cdt grills? i'm really stuck on this right now.

Hi--

Wow, that was one hella old post there..

yeah, so what I did was that I took some MDF and made wooden ring risers.. and placed them over the factory grill installation spot..that gave me the added depth that I needed to fit the speakers.. You can use 1/2" or 3/4" depending on your need.

Hope that helps!
