Do most people using 1000 watt sub amps upgrade their alternators?

I've run about 1000 watts rms daily with my setup, and have over 1700rms on tap if I ever feel the need to crank it. This is all on a stock Civic electrical system with a 90amp alt. So, no, I don't think you'll need to upgrade the alt, especially if you don't go over 1500w rms or so. I'm sure your Tahoe alt is at least 140amps.

ported boxes peak, then drops off real quick on the low end

sealed stays more flat, recreating the music more accurately, not exaggerating frequencies a lot louder than others

heres the 12w6v2 in recommended sealed and ported boxes

white is sealed, red is ported

the SSD gets even flatter

This may be a stupid question. If I am going to use 2 of the W6's, is there any benefit of having each one in its on individual enclosure, instead of having one large box with both of them in it?

As long as the airspace is correct in either enclosure for 1 or 2 drivers it doesn't make a difference iirc.

Like some of the others have said.. the JL mids/Highs are ok but for the price you can find better.. some of my faves..
