Hello,
I live in the DFW area. I recently purchased a new HU (Alpine IDA X100), 4channel amp (Alpine MRP F450), a mono amp (Kicker ZX750.1), two subs (Kicker CVT102), and a sealed box from supercrewsounds.com. I drive a 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew.
I have never put a stereo in and don't feel comfortable doing it. I also don't really want to pay another $1000 for the install. Can anyone refer me to a reputable installer that won't charge an arm and a leg like the major car audio stores would? Either that or if anyone can give me an idea of what an install like this should cost. I don't want to get taken. I went to the car toys in plano, and their install prices seemed pretty outrageous. For example, they wanted to charge like $40 just to install the ipod cable. That seems pretty high just to drill a hole into the glove box. I read that the car toys in lewisville is kind of pricey, but they treat you well, and do a good job. I know you get what you pay for, but I was thinking if there was a technician that does work on the side, it would be cheaper than at the store, with the same quality work.
Any help will be appreciated. I have received all of the electronics, just waiting on the box. It should arrive between 3/10 and 3/13. So soon after that I would like to get it installed.
Thank you in advance.
