5.25" neo sub box ?

Q is way too low for a sealed alignment, its going to roll off very quickly...

Edit: NVM, not that low, was thinking of the 6.5...still a little low for a sealed alignment IMO if you want anything below 50hz...

i still have enough scrap 3/4 mdf to put together a couple more boxes if need be. ill see how i like it, worst case i can do another.
it just seems like this - http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp?Ew=15&Eh=10&Dia=1&Xmax=9.5&Vd=.03&NumW=1&Vb=.7&Fb=32&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0 - is friggen huge for a 5.25". and presonally , id prefer a L port if i could. i have no other program on hand and im terrible doing this with pen and paper...
I would honestly just use a single precision port, 3 inch would probably be enough...4 if you want...

I agree with Fast1one... a ported box will really bring out the potential of the sub and is worth the extra size. To be honest, a 2" flared port about 10"-11" would probably work since your only feeding it 25W. WinISD predicts peak velocity to be under 25m/s at 25W power; that is less than Mach 0.1 which is usually a good guideline limit for avoiding port noise.

the roll off is very sharp. doesnt drop below 35hz very well. but it is very accurate and it is enough to fill in that low end i was lacking.

.6-.7cuft with a 2" , 11" long port would give me what? like i said , i still have enough scraps to build another box or two.

The difference? Here is WinISD's predicted plot of 0.25 cf sealed vs ported, 0.7 cf with 10.5" x 2" dia. port (~32 hz):

good stuff. .7 with a 10.5 " port. where should i put the port at?

he was so curious when i was putting everything together. on the box , pliers , sub. he fits perfect in the 5.25" lol.

and how far should the port be off the back wall?

btw, thanks for all the help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
