:Dso everyone i know says to set your comps and rear speakers to HP and not full. well the question i have is if you set it to high pass do the filter settings still work? so pretty much im asking should i or wold i get better sound leaving them on full and using the filters on my amp? i have a nine.4 and drive 2002 accord. all help is appreciated

I have mine on all pass and control the crossover from my HU. Works out better for me because I can set the filter and bring the dB down slightly to bring everything together smoother, instead of the gaps in frequencies I sometimes hear from my comps.

You have it back wards. If you set it to HP, you turn ON the filter settings. If you set it to full that normally turns OFF the filter settings.

I suggest you set it to HP and the freq should be where your subs take over. If your subs are set at 70 hz, then that is where you should set your HP filter, or a little higher. Since it's not a sudden drop, but a slope over an octave. So if your subs are LP at 70 hz, then you can set your main speakers at HP at 70-90 hz.

You can do the HP either at the HU or the amp. The crossover in your HU is probably of better quality and may give a cleaner cut off, but the one in the amp is fine.

I have the HP on my rear speaker set much higher, because they distort much sooner than my front speakers.

I like to use my filters on my amp for the sub and front components because none of the settings in the head unit fit my needs. Example: My front high pass has 63 and 80 HZ settings, I really wanted my comps crossed over somewhere in the region in between. The head unit low pass settings for sub are the same, something ,like 63 and 80 HZ, I wanted to be at 70. My sub is set at approximately 70 HZ, front comps are set at 75 or so. The only thing I use the head unit for is high passing the rears because there's no other way to do it since they're wired directly to the head unit.

Try setting using both the head unit and amp filters. If the flexibility of the amp helps you get more out of your front components, use those. If your music stays just as clean and it sounds good to you using the head unit, use that.
