I'm gonna build a dual 12" sealed box with about 4 cubes of space. I know most boxes are built with 3/4" thick MDF, but what would the difference be if I used 1" thick MDF? Do you think it would sound much, if any better?

Slightly less flex, heavier, more expensive, and that is about it. Brace it right and you won't have to use 1" MDF to keep the flexing down.

"Sane power"...well put //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think a jbl 1200.1 is remotely sane. Especially when you answer these people's questions who are running a pair of 15" audiobahn flame subs with like 4000 watts...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I usually always just use 3/4" and brace the box fairly well. If its a big box, like 5+cubes, then I just tend to spend the extra and use 1". Why? Just out of habit I guess - I have yet to notice that significant of difference. Although it does tend to cut down on flexing, which is a big:nono:

I say go for it. Just add some kind of bracing to the bigger panels. Some old home speaker boxes were made of 3/8" mdf. Maybe not even mdf, some...

Yea. That's what I did. I mixed the glue with the dust from sanding and fill in the bigger holes. Then filled the rest with wood filler..works awesome

Yes Should be easy with a flush trim bit in a router and will allow OP to hide any screws/nails used along edges.
