2ohm door speakers?

Looking to possibly replace some of the upgraded Bose OEM speakers in my '10 Maxima SV. Apparently most or all of those bose speakers are 2 ohm drivers. What, if any, 2ohm speakers are out there that are a step up from Bose and worth looking into?

It would be my pleasure to show you a few options to upgrade the factory 2 ohm speakers in your Maxima. Please pm me your email address to be sure we have the right one on file.

Infinity Kappas..mids are great! tweets dont seem to hold up but replaced with a set of CDT tweets and sounds very nice and clean if tuned properly.I used a Preamp EQ to tune on the fly and still do usually in most my vehicles. As stated Focals...possibly a set of JBL may be another to look into even?Yet, Raw drivers may be the way to go for your install/liking. Id deff do some research for 2 ohm.Beyma may have something in 4 ohm and add a tweet with a cap to drop to 2 ohm even??

Some Focals
I wish.....probably out of my budget for now, unless I can find a killer used deal.

Infinity makes some pretty good references in 2o
I owned some kappa perfects subs back in the day, I think those were my 2nd sub setup ever. Loved them. Always wanted to play with some infinity front stages, especially the perfects. Not sure if they make 2ohm perfects, but it'd be happy to look into some.

Do you think the infinitys will be a step up from the OEM Bose? Bose is nice, and the stock stereo DOES sound great.....so whatever I put in needs to raise the bar at least a bit.

As for CDT. ******* loved my CDT tweets and midranges from my last 3 way active setup. I'd have to think about how'd I'd incorporate them, given the layout of speaker sizes and signals with all the different speakers in that bose setup.

If your reference is stock Bose then you have a long list to improve upon.

Now saying that. The stock Bose is tuned to your equipment in your car.

That tune may or may not do well with different drivers.

Each driver has its own sound signature. We can manipulate that signature with processing. Your stock processing is manipulating the stock Bose drivers.

Right.....I was hoping to get some TS specs from bose on the drivers and see about utilizing that to guide my needs. I think the speakers are getting around 40w rms each and are all mounted IB.

It's not the T/S it's the bandwidth and response curve and impeadance plot.
by bandwidth you mean frequency range played/xover setting?

response curve being flat ish is good, right?

could you go a little more into the impedance plot?

Bandwidth is a drivers usable range. What it should play well without distortion or cone break up. Not a spec frequency range, it falls in between that.

A driver can measure ruler flat near feild. It won't be near the same once it's installed. You don't want ruler flat playback, that's dull, lifeless, and to much highs. Google the Harmon curve

The impeadance plot tracks the drivers shifts over its range. The FS will be its highest impedance with rise.

No idea if refs would be step up, however, if your stocker Bose system is anywhere near the clarity and loudness I had from 4x 6.5 refs on a bk520, that has to be one amazing system. You may not get more clarity or detail, but it's hard to believe there won't be a boost in volume of they're powered sufficiently
