2018 Dodge Challenger - Alpine Group 2 System (9 speaker + 8" Sub)

Hello all,

Short time reader, first time poster here.

My current stock system has the following set up:
Three 3.5" dash
6.5" Mids Doors
3.5" back seat
6.5" rear deck
8" sub rear deck
502W amp

I own the following from my last car:
Audison SR 5.600 (5Ch x 75W x 4 + 1 330W)
Audison Bit10 DSP

I wanted to get your suggestion if I should just upgrade all of the speakers in the current system, or use the amp/dsp and go with a 5 channel system.

I have an estimate from a shop I've used in OC before, but they are charging a boat load for labor to install the amp/dsp/PAC Amp Pro, and two sets of Hertz.

Any shop recommendations in or around Orange County would be amazing.

Thank you,

Keno

Tell them to quit crack! I'd just go with a badass 2-way comp set and a sub. Just basic sound proofing would make a tremendous difference which is something they should have offered in the first place.

How does your current system sound?? When I first started with upgrades, I purchased a PAC brand wiring harness that allowed me to add an amplifier to the stock system; and added a 12" subwoofer in the trunk. It was literally plug-and play. Before I spend the money that they are asking, I would do a serious assessment of what I currently have. Have some friends give you their opinions on your current sound.

A neighbor got quoted a similar price for a fairly basic system / install. That’s a lot of money in my opinion. In a different state, but I imagine most shops are going to be pricey like that these days.

Personally, I had the Harmon Kardon system in my Charger Scat, and Charger Hellcat.
I bought a Challenger Harmon Kardon sub. Its 2-10s in an abs box in the spare tire area.
Coming out of the box are 6 wires. The pair of 10s are 4ohm SVC...but one only had 1 coil wired.
I wired each sub coils parallel for 2 ohm load. I added 2 wire terminal cups to enclosure. I wired
them in series at the cups. I used a small Jensen XDA92RB from Walmart. It was WAY more than
the factory 10s needed. It sounded VERY clean and was a huge improvement. To connect amp, I
had just tapped onto the factory sub's power wire and used that as a high level input on the amp.
That also served as the amp's turn on signal as well. And since battery is in the trunk, my power
cables were short, and I only used 8g since the amp was tiny.

How did you get the audio signal to the amp???

The factory sub power wire would not have gotten the audio signal to the amplifier. It may have turned the amp on but not sent an audio signal. That's why I asked you the question. Did you mean to say "the factory amplifier audio signal wires for the audio signal??
