2014 Subaru WRX build

Received some gear today, got in the CDT mids and some deadener from Jim and the knu Krystal RCA's came in the mail. Will be installing soon and pictures will follow shortly.

I did in fact get something accomplished today. I installed my new Defi boost and oil pressure gauge in the SMY gauge pod, it was a pain in the arse but it is done! Here's a couple of pics of the final product.

I love defi gauges. I used to own a 94 supra when I lived in Japan and ran all defi. Such a ****, classy and yet still ****** look
I agree, Defi is definitely great stuff. I'm really happy with the way everything turned out, it was a pricey project (just shy of $600) but in my opinion required.

Yeah I think I paid like $150 for each of mine. But definitely required in a higher performance boosted vehicle if you want it to last. So much can go wrong in a boosted vehicle that you need to keep check on

Here some of the gear so far, will start install on Saturday.

Thinking of mounting the ES-02's here, does anyone think the slight downward angle will be a significant disadvantage? If so I might make some custom kick pods.

Ok, so here we go again... New car, new system. I didn't finish my last build log, this will get finished because I actually plan on keeping this car. Not going for huge numbers, just a daily beater with some decent sq but who knows what it will evolve to. In the early stages so bare with me.

Wiring harness is all wired up

Heat shrink over butt connectors?

At that point why not just solder it?
I tried to solder but the wires on the pioneer were to thin, when I got enough heat to melt the thin solder I was using it melted the insulation as we'll. Perhaps the solder gun I have is a bit heavy for the small jobs, it's a big ol blue point solder gun. I always add shrink tubing to connectors for good measure.
