2014 Subaru WRX build

Ok, so here we go again... New car, new system. I didn't finish my last build log, this will get finished because I actually plan on keeping this car. Not going for huge numbers, just a daily beater with some decent sq but who knows what it will evolve to. In the early stages so bare with me.

Here are the plans in a nut shell, haven't finished making all of the gear selections just yet so ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Head unit: Pioneer DEH-80PRS

Front stage speakers: Don't know yet, definitely 3 way active, thinking a CDT set up

Amplification: 2x Alpine PDX-V9, 6 channels will be used for front stage, 2 for rear fill, sub channels are self explanatory

Sub stage: took advantage of getting 2 funkin audio SX 12"s really cheap to use as temporary subs until I decide on a preeminent solution. Going to run them in a sealed enclosure for now.

I have the deck in and the big 3 done so far, more to come soon. Thanks @mylows10 for hanging out yesterday and helping out with the big 3.

Also installed my new Perrin radiator shroud, radiator stays, and alternator cover

Connection at the alternator for the big 3

The 2 ground connections at the negative terminal

Chassis ground

The techflex I used blends well with the factory stuff

I decided the positive lead on the alternator could use some protection, it kind of sticks out in the engine bay like a sore thumb

Using plastidip to provide some barrier

First coat

The plastidip is still drying, will post up a pic tomorrow of the final product.

Not audio related but the stock shift and e-brake boots were made of material that was the same quality of a Walmart plastic bag

Terrible

So I installed a short shifter and alcantara with red stitching shift and e-brake boots, matches the seats and looks so much better.

Even getting the next generation involved, she loves cars, it's pretty awesome.

Yea, I need to talk to Jim, He can get almost anything. I don't think I need anything crazy, 200 amps should be more then sufficient to run 2 alpine V9 amps.

How many coats did you do with the plasti?

I have done 3 heavy coats so far, going to hit it with 3-4 more coats when I get home. I am going to try and get it thick enough to make it hard to tell that there is a nut and bolt under there.

How much altering are you planning on doing to your panels for your front stage?
