2006 Lincoln LS install

Nice equipment. I've wanted a DC amp for a minute.
Enjoyed reading thru the install.

Let us know how she sounds.

Sorry it was such a hassle.
I just can't wait to show you guys the final install. It's going to look super clean. And I love those DC amps. I'm going to have to figure out a way to talk the guy out of them at some point. It's my favorite zenon heatsink and the only other "brand" that I know of currently using it is Formula X. I've tried to contact them a dozen times, but they won't return my emails...

looks good pretty doesnt always sound good imo especially if its one of those shady half as shops this build is looking great keep up the good work
I appreciate the kind words. I was totally expecting to get torn to shreds over the enclosure design. That's why I'm constantly pointing out that I KNOW it's goofy looking and it ISN'T my design. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

False floors/walls are always a win, since they can hide any odd designs.

Also, think Rusty still has any of those amps left?

I also want to say something about the paint. It looks a hell of a lot better in person. The flash on my camera does something that makes it look blotchy and uneven, but in person it looks nothing like that. In fact, it's completely flat. There's no gloss at all...

I haven't talked directly to Rusty in quite a while, but I know Bills had a shit load of the PAI-2000.1's several months ago. I asked about buying one and he didn't say anything about them not being for sale. I went through some really crappy financial stuff, so I didn't bother asking him again. It sucks, man. I haven't had the chance to buy any new toys for myself in quite a while.

Yeah i feel that. Money to blow is scarce. Best of luck with everything though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ohhh man. i like it!
cant wait to see some vids
I doubt there will be vids as I don't have a nice camera. There will be a shit ton of pics once this thing is 100% finished, though. After the vehicle being such a pain in the ***, I'm going to want to show off my work. And I'm normally not the type to show off anything...

I appreciate it. I've got my head above water again now. In fact, I've got a plan in motion that may bring an Arc SE 4000 and 4 12" IA Flatlines my way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That. Is. Awesome. I love those subs. Have you looked at the Arc Flatlines?

I think my next build will be 2-4 ID8's either in a false floor or suspended from the rear deck in my hatch. Nice and simple, but a change of pace from the Level 4.

Yup, I've looked at the Arc Flatlynes a bunch of times. I like the basket and motor, but I'm not crazy about flat cone subs. I prefer the IA Flatline because of the underhung design. I'd like to pick up a Arc SE 2300 and a set of Dynaudio Esotec 362's as well, but that's pushing things WAY out of proportions. One thing at a time, man...

I've also thought of doing four Level 4 12"s. I even thought of having the cones shipped to PSI to be color matched to the interior of my vehicle. I mentioned it to Rusty and he didn't give me an answer. I kinda took that to mean that he didn't want to be bothered with shipping cones and stuff back & forth. Can't really say I blame him.

I'd try the suspended idea. I've wanted to try something like that a few times myself. Kinda like this, but with some nice 8"s.

Yup, very similar. Except since I'm in the hatch, I'd fire them either up or down using the lid (reinforced) as the top of the enclosure.

Man, bracing something like that in a hatch would be a nightmare. It'd be cool as hell if you can pull it off, though.

As this thread clearly shows, I don't have the patience for work of that nature. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I tried working with fiberglass once and completely lost interest after about 2 solid days of sanding, sweeping and vacuuming...
