2 sub boxes?

I'm trying to think of a good way to set up my car, without completely killing my trunk space. I'm still learning the inner workings of the car audio world, but I have an above average grasp on things. I was wondering, is it feasible to build 2 separate boxes, each with a single 10" in them, and the amp mounted to the back. I have kids, and a job that requires some travel, so occasionally I will need the trunk space, but most of the time it's just me, so trunk space is negligible. If I had 2 boxes, I could remove one, so that I would still have my bump, but I could temporarily reclaim a few cubes of trunk space... Just a thought. Just want to make sure that when I start my install, I have my ducks in a row, and I know the entire plan going into it.

Yeah. In fact there are numerous things we could do depending on how wild you're looking to go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My friend has 2 8"s in a relatively small box. His amp is mounted inside of the panel, and he just disconnects the power to the subs and he takes it out. Looks really clean and works amazingly.

if you took one out you would also be changing the load on the amp so you would have to adjust acordingly
Depends on the setup, for this one I would suggest a 2 channel amp so one channel can be removed without affecting the other, and using dual 4 ohm subs.
