I was pretty impressed. It got pretty loud for a sub thats not even made to get hella loud.

yessir, i'm the idiot with an iDmax that works. Before i got my iDmax i did my research and knew it doesn't take 1000w. I also knew that it's efficient and doesn't need much to achieve the output that it offers. IMO that's a plus. reaching full excursion w/o sending 1kw is all good with me.

only if your iDmax's spec sheet told you to jump off a bridge, too.

I'll let the readers and the OP decide on their own what info or 'rumors', as you say, to take into consideration. i'm not sure what 'rumors' i regurgitated. i'm just spreading my experience with discussed woofer. Also, for the record, i never said the iDmax is superior to the XXX, but simply that would prefer it over the XXX for my stated reasons.

you still haven't suggested me any 'real' subwoofers to listen to yet.

real woofer, is something that can take rated power without blowing up unlike an IDMAX. Something like a JL, Avalanche, XXX, something that is not scared to blow up when giving rated power. Its a shame how idmax made the IDmax. I was really hyped up when I got it. It was a huge disappointment, when giving rated power after taking it easy for a week the max's belw up. You claimed XXX caught on fire by reading some bs on the forms. Read your own post. If you have some concrete facts then I wouldn't mind the arguments.

Idmax rated the woofers I surely didn't. I gave it recommended watts and it blew up! I know they aren't spl woofers! I bought two because of SQL. There woofer do ****, because when you give it recommended power they blow up. Why give a woofer rated 1500 watts RMS but power it with 500 watt amp. Its very easy to understand. Why by a Z06 when it can do 200mph, but yours can only do 120mph then blow up. Makes sense? NOW!

All this time i thought build quality, sound quality, effeciency and performance mattered as opposed to power rating. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Think i will go with a MA audio 10,000w sub now. Its better that my X because 10,000 is a bigger number than 1,000.
