idamx is a great sub. one of the better ones imo for the price. Its is true they dont "like full rms" unless it is 100% clean power. i have never heard any re product, so i cant comment on the xxx, but from hearing 3 different idmax systems, i can surely say that they get loud and sound amazing doing it. I know some one with 2 12" v3's sealed off about 600rms each, and they are clean and get loud. a lot louder than my maw 15 with around 300-350rms, sealed as well. as long as you make sure you are feedng a max clean power, anywhere in the 500rms to 900rms range will be fine.

Its amazing how many satisfied customers have run 1000 watts on an IDMax with no problem. I guess it took you coming along to show us the flaw in them we've all been missing all these years. My hat's off to you, fine sir.

and just because Image Dynamics doesn't make power hungry monstrous SPL subs, doesn't mean that their woofers "****." All their woofers do what they are meant to, and sound **** good, musical and accurate.

I've always been satisfied with my efficient iDmax's. There aren't many subs i would rank above it.
and just because Image Dynamics doesn't make power hungry monstrous SPL subs, doesn't mean that their woofers "****." All their woofers do what they are meant to, and sound **** good, musical and accurate.

Idmax rated the woofers I surely didn't. I gave it recommended watts and it blew up! I know they aren't spl woofers! I bought two because of SQL. There woofer do ****, because when you give it recommended power they blow up. Why give a woofer rated 1500 watts RMS but power it with 500 watt amp. Its very easy to understand. Why by a Z06 when it can do 200mph, but yours can only do 120mph then blow up. Makes sense? NOW!

i've personally seen iDmax's take 1000w, But i know for sure they don't that much to reach full excursion. ~700w is enough. I admit that 1000w is practically it's limit though.

anyhow I'd much rather have my sub blow than to catch fire.

We've sold over 30 new 06XXX to customers with all getting 2,000+ RMS. No fires so far.

Hell, I had my 06XXX running 4,500rms for 3+ months, again... no fire.

Spittin the facts the way Tuan told them to me when I was looking to buy 2 of them. DB Dom's got hot from the rated rms power and he is no noob, I can't think of the other 2 on this forum that had issues with them, but I know one kids truck burnt down...

btw, I still say idmax's even if the 06 xxx boat anchors don't go up in teh flamez.

2 efficient 12's > 1 not so efficient 12...

put 1700-1800 to the idmax's and I bet they get louder than 1800 to a XXX. Thats just a guess though.

I have owned the Idmax, that's what I base my grounds on. You haven't owned an XXX nor even heard it. Internet nut riding is what most of you people are doing. Most of you don't have concrete facts. Most of you people haven't owned neither the XXX nor Idmax. Just going by what other people are saying. Shit I have owned the 06" XXX for about nearly an year no fires. I also owned the 05 2005 15" XXX no fires. Please stop this interent nut riding!
