pretty sure it's the idq's that are getting revamped, not the idmax.

IDMax is supposedly getting a 15" version. I dont believe the Max is being totally redesigned to the extent the IDQ is though.

I would choose the IDmax based on upper frequency extension. If you would like the sub to have nice low end with a nice upper end too, the IDmax is great for that. If you want a ton of low end and not as much upper bass, the XXX would be great for that.

If the 06's are like the 04-05's, I agree totally. With the older XXX's you need some serious midbass to go with them. If you have it... ooo la la.

Judging by the coil length and extreme xmax, I would say it would be even worse with the 06s. The 05s were pretty bad with upper frequency extension from what I have heard.

Idmax **** as ****. I had two 12" in a sealed box, powered by the orion 2400d. I had the gains set around 44 volts. That shit blew within a week. then I moved to the xxx and never looked back. I actually sold a set here on caraudio lol. Bottom line get something that can perform. Idmax **** as ****!! Not sure how the **** the idmax can handle 3000 watts.
