if you're using the crossovers on the amp you don't need to use the one in the head unit. cross your 15's at 65hz and if you can, cross your highs at 65hz or 80hz if they distort at 65hz. Or use that as a starting point at what suits you bestwhat should i be setting my head unit crosses to??
was running an orion 1200d and 2 RE Se's.. long story, blew the power on it by crossing pos and neg, alt couldnt even handle it.. had to downgradenevermind 250.. isnt all the 1/0 a little overkill?
you went from re ses to memphis?? why?was running an orion 1200d and 2 RE Se's.. long story, blew the power on it by crossing pos and neg, alt couldnt even handle it.. had to downgrade
..no such thing as overkill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
awe ok...figured i could get a similar out put from half the rms, but with larger subs, so i went with low end 15's.. was able to sell the blown amp and subs for about 400 + the matching orion 4 chann (sold for 120) to get the alpine amps for round 280 and the subs and enclosure for like 300, so i hardly spent any money out of pocket to get a new setup..
nice and clean! hate to say it but ud be louder wit 2 12's or 2 10's
wow thanks! thats simplifies things, haha. those m3's look badass, but im trying to still keep my amp setup the same, so lookin for some 12's that do round 3-400rms.. was thinkin bout 3 10's, but ill prolly want more output than that. He's right. i sell 30 of those power refrence 15's a week. they sound great, wont find another speaker like it for $110.00 that's for sure. but those Pr's need room to move. a civic is not going to give you that. i had the same setup. the best possible setup in that car(memphis wise) would be 2 M312d4's on a MCD1000. custom box would be best but if you just want a pre-fab box go with a PE2x12 from memphis they are nice slot-load boxes and only run about $139.99
