indeed.and i will go as far to say dont listen to this guy. somewhat he said is true. and sealed box more cone area may sound better to an certain point so dont go leading this guy down the wrong path. he may just go try to get 2 18" MTS one day putting them in 8 cubes sealed in his honda thinking he would be louder than using 2 10" BTLS ported. listen the facts remain and from experience and common sense. loook at it like this those 15s in his trunk is similar to you haveing an wall almost sealed off in an suv, BUT REAR FIRING! that wont be loud on the inside no would it?
sure... but i like how u just gonna say i have no personal experience with that. thats like u telling i dont know my own name. but ok MR. i gotchakid look. its not as simple as 'the amount of waves cant get to the front' deal. this is not water in a pipe you are dealing with. there is way more than you can imagine coming into play when talking about speaker\box size.
notice i was talking about going from a pair of sealed 15's to 12's. no mention did i make of ported boxes being louder, because in reality they should be, but you will loose sound quality - which to me is the most important part of a stereo.
the property you are having problems with is phase. not the size of your speakers or the box. when a speaker fires in a trunk, the wave bouncing off the rear wall, and other incident waves will reach the listener at different times causing cancellation and simply less authority. magically when the trunk opens up - somehow the bass gets stronger and yada yada.
you simply have no factual evidence that the 'speaker waves' are blocked by the box and have no personal experience to back up your claim. but this should enlighten you.

its all about the install, not the equipment used kids. so listen to me, i am pretty sure ive been around the block a bit more than you.
i agree with you 100%. First off, look at the pic showing the box in the trunk. There is way more than enough room for air to pass to get into the front. If the box was totally blocking the whole passage, then i might agree with tooloudfortv but even then you'd be surprised how air can get into the cabin. My system is louder with my back seats down, but even when they're up it gets loud as f**k(to me).. However hes has plenty of room for air to pass, more than i do if i may add and i have two 15's in the trunk of my accord. My system is loud as f**K (to me)without missing a beat. OP your system is fine the way it is, just tune it.kid look. its not as simple as 'the amount of waves cant get to the front' deal. this is not water in a pipe you are dealing with. there is way more than you can imagine coming into play when talking about speaker\box size.

if you believe your not getting all the frequencies than readjust the crossovers. You'd be surprised on the difference a system can sound with the crossovers adjusted properly. Where do you have your subs crossed? where do you have your components crossed?tune it?
what all are you running?
you are the first to say that everything is alright..
have not touch head unit cross overs.. sub out: yes, at either 13 or 14..if you believe your not getting all the frequencies than readjust the crossovers. edit: i have the same head unit as you. Are you using the sub out? If so do you have the sub out at 15?
