2 15" L7's vs. 2 15" type r's

For a daily driver they work very well....
The competition scene is another story //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
the SX's lose alot of low end in a small box... which is what kills em in a daily driver.

smaller higher tuned box.... then your talking about competing.

everyone needs to stop arguing about which woofer is better between type-r and everything else, it is all install dependant along with the amount of power you have to throw at them. I would go with either, they will both be great setups...

lol I don't think you've used bothe either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

The R makes a better all around woof.

Its relative...everything is except life and death. For me L7's are a much better woofer cause they DO play low and dang loud too. You are making a living off box design? My box isn't typical to "kicker" recommendations. Right now I want it loud as possible for my daily, the R's can't compete with them. Don't get me wrong though, I installed an R in my friends car and the lows hit deep and smooth, its a little sloppy on higher notes do to the overall box volume, thats why I am making a new enclosure in a few days. But the R does sound better as far as sq is concerned.

If I wanted a decently loud sub that sounded awesome and didn't wan't to spend a gagillion dollars I would definatly run R's. However, for what I am looking for in MY subs based on output levels and the type of music I listen to, the L7's are better for me.

Moral.....listen to them (in an actual install) and pick what you like.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Wait...you mean you tried the Type R and still preferred the L7?

Blasphemy...this man is lying!! Screw personal opinion, I've done testing in every single vehicle, at every single frequency, in every single alignment and every single enclosure.

You sir, are wrong....because I say so.

Take that!

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif thank you, I needed that..

That I am //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd be willing to argue that the R's can achieve similar and even MORE output in a low tuned situation... but they are harder to work with than the L7.

If your comparing 2 different installs you are comparing apples to oranges.

If you wanted a great example of what type R's are "capable" of.. my blazer would be it. L7's can't keep up with the R's at a low note... and of course a big big difference in SQ.

Oh...and Tracy=pwnage
actually would still like to know... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and all my L7 boxes have always played quite low, and done very well...maybe I used Scottie Johnsons magical 'SPL dust' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

are u serious, hahaha u have 2 be. u can seal an L7, they are fine. but u gotta be 4real about L7>R. cuz there is no way. ASK typeRbass he had L7s and they crapped out on him everytime he put some power to em, they get loud when they are broke, its tru, he was louder when they were messed up. but lets be 4real.
my L7's >>>> your typeR's:p:
