Polecat runs a kx2500.1 to 1 10'' L7 I believe, without any problems.
Face it people, the Type R is not the loudest subwoofer out there. It's not the best overall subwoofer and it does not sound the best out of all. Are they loud? Yes. Can they be beat for their price? No. But, that doesn't mean they're the best and you shoudl reccomend them to everyone. Infact I believe the whole Type R hype is starting to annoy people rather than encourage them to purchase. Telling people to buy the Type R in every single thread is most likely going to discourage them instead of provoke them.
In your situation, go L7s.
When it's right for the application, a reccomendation for the Type R is absolutely accepted. When it's wrong for the application, and people suggest the R just because they have one, then it's absolutely wrong. Those kind of threads are what get people started on the anti-hype, like me.Well alot of people that have the type r are the ones who recommend them, yes. I do sometimes but not as much as some. COUGH****SBLAZER****COUGH! But i will say they are a very good woofer compared to the low end of subs. They can even take out some good subs. So I dont mind people recommending them. But yes the tcab crew goes overboard on them. Humm I wonder why. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Very good woofer? Indeed. Even though they are sickly loud for the price, they don't fit what everyone makes them out to be.
The TCAB crew makes some hella boxes from what I hear, but they are way overly expensive. I would never pay to have one of these built at the prices they ask.
Its a newer civic, it will fit no problem.I have to see it to believe it. Plus he said he would have room left over in his trunk. Ok lets see that one. My buddy has a civic and has 2 10''alpine x's in them, with a ported box. He doesnt have much room left and I know his box is now where near 6 cubes. It isnt much bigger than mine. I am at 1.75cft per. So.....
LOL...can I get this guys name since I have been here since May 1988?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifwell yota u must have had a hell of some L7s. a new guy on our team was a designer or whaeva for kicker. he says so himself that L7s bottom out easy and wouldnt put anyp power 2 em on low notes becuz of there design,
I see a sign.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...with a viper 2500.1 on each with a 43hz note...
and but they broke WAY too easily.
and i will agree that they do bottom out way too easily. i dont get how they have a 'strong' design when i cracked the center of one of the cones on a burp, tore spiders on them from burps, etc.
SX's work well in just over 3 cubes a piece, avalanches (if you can find some) work wonderfully in just over 3 cubes....you really dont have room for 2 15's of any sort...
you have a very loose definition of work well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifSX's work well in just over 3 cubes a piece, avalanches (if you can find some) work wonderfully in just over 3 cubes....
There are plenty of drivers that work well in that space.
