2 15" L7's vs. 2 15" type r's

First off, to the guy who said the L7 was just as good as the W7, just stfu.

L7's can take plenty of power, I've seen the 12's and 15's take a KX1200.1 daily which put out close to 1500 watts. I really wish I could hear one of these TCAB boxes because in just about any regular install, L7's will have more output than type R's. Maybe the 5-6 '05 Type R installs I've heard had something wrong with them because they definately didn't live up to the hype they get. I'm not bashing R's either, they were great subs, got pretty loud, sounded very smooth and hit the lows very nicely - they just didn't live up to my expectations that I got from you guys.

i used to have 2 15" comp vr's in 6 cubes sealed and liked the low bass and output, i want something more now. i can probably do 3.5 a piece but what tuning would be good? why don't i have room for 15's? i got room to do 3.5 a piece ported and still have room in the trunk, so i don't think i will be "choking" the trunk, i have fold sown seats also. i am trying to break a 140 on the termlab and hit low

well my input on the L7's now...

I ran a pair of L7's for most of last season...with a viper 2500.1 on each with a 43hz note...and they did get retardedly loud once i found the right box for them. but they broke WAY too easily. I could not get them to play low for the love of god. i went through boxes and boxes and they just couldn't play a low note to save their lives. and the truth is, they were louder when they were broken. and i will agree that they do bottom out way too easily. i dont get how they have a 'strong' design when i cracked the center of one of the cones on a burp, tore spiders on them from burps, etc. but i still love L7's, and i still have mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif just have to find something to do with em.

So you're saying they broke wayy to easy when you were giving them there rated rms or 2.5 times it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also, from what I'm hearing, L7 15 tuned to 35hz would be golden? I'm actually planning to buy a pair soon. Or closer to 40hz?

l7 sounds just as good as a w7 down low... thats new.
to each his own, but lol thats quite a statement, and I 100% completely disagree with you.

The l7 works fine in a sealed box, btw.

And, the type R works great.
i didnt say it sounds as good as a w7, but it sounds pretty **** close and i am only talking about low end too. maybe it was the install, maybe i just lucked out and built a really good low end box. i dunno, but i know that my lows on my L7s were nice, very nice. and L7s work sealed, but its stupid to seal em

well yota u must have had a hell of some L7s. a new guy on our team was a designer or whaeva for kicker. he says so himself that L7s bottom out easy and wouldnt put anyp power 2 em on low notes becuz of there design, they bottom out easy. im sure u kno that. but in terms of output and overall woofer, i would have 2 give it R. u can seal an L7, sure, but i wouldnt. but i was sayin if u had 2 choose between the 2, i would go wit the L7 sealed. 151 isnt bad for 4 12s and 2200w each, i guess. i respect ya score. but fatryan, how can u say he doesnt kno how 2 install or whaeva, he has built numerous of boxes and he is an world champ. wha do u have 2 show? i dont need 2 ask any1 about the L7s i see for myself wha they can and cannot do. period
i dont care if your friend got some beat L7s or he cant install for shit
i didnt say he couldnt install. i said beat L7s or shit install, either way that shouldnt be happening to the subs.

low end volume, perhaps?

as far as sealed... the l7 makes a decent sealed woofer in the scheme of things. It can be said its "stupid" to seal almost ANY woofer.

Still dont know how you got over 6 cubes in a civic unless it was walled off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
