Hi all. I have a Autotek amp which states 2ohm @ 500rms, 1ohm @ 800rms so right now i need to power a single Alpine Type R rated at 500rms.

Need somebody to help me whether i need to purchase the woofer for a 4ohm or a 2ohm?

Problem is whether my amp will get very hot at 1ohm? or i just purchase a 4ohm sub or 2ohm.

Hi All sorry, sub will be a DVC

why? dual 4 will give a 2ohm final load... dont type r's take more than 500w? I say get a dual 2 and run the amp at 1 ohm. if the sub sounds like it cant take the heat, turn the gains down.

i would rather you stay in the safe side and power it 500w @ 2 ohm.
and if u want to power it 800w @ 1 ohm, you'll need to purchase the Dual 2 ohm type r.

my main concern

right now i have two sub to choose

Type r DVC SWR-1224 4ohm, Type r DVC SWR-1222 2ohm

My amp spec mono black, 1ohm 800rms 2ohm 500rms.

whihch 1 i should use? i know that use in 1ohm load will be better but will i overheat the amp for long time usage?

But if i use a 2ohm load will there be enough power to push the sub to the max?

omg.... nevermind bro.. nevermind... i thought i already told you....

if the amp is 1ohm stable then it should be able to handle it fine

800w will be good, just turn the gain down if the sub cant take it

get d2...

500w will push that sub no where near its max...
