12" sub shopping!!

-I need a 12" subwoofer

-I listen to large genres of music (rock, hip hop, rnb, jazz, etc.)

-I would like both spl and sq but am willing to sacrifice some spl for better sq

-I'm on a budget of no more than $250

-I've got a Memphis CA300 (150 watt x 2) amp which means i need something dual 2 ohm?

The only recommendation I've gotten so far is an old school ORION HCCA 12" which has been hard for me to find at a reasonable price.

I have had this for about a month, I had it in 2 cubes tuned to 32hz. This thing gets LOUD, and gets very low. It has a 3hp motor, and RE XXX softparts, good combonation if you ask me. Dual 2 ohm, VERY good condition.
Specs:

1400w rms Handling, but can take much more if you're careful, you know the drill

Dual 2 ohm

Blue 12 spoke basket

so what's my best bet here, that will suit my needs?

It sounds MUCH beter and cleaner than the above 4 woofers, its as loud as all 4, if NOT louder..

and its on the same lines as a TC 3000

could someone vouch for this info? would this be my best bet

Unfortunately the power you have on tap will not even get the xxx moving.

You need something that only requires 300-500rms.

What kind of sound are you looking for? The one you mentioned will not really net you what you want int terms of sq.

You would want something like the round solo-baric, there is nothing like it in the market today. ID makes great subs that would also suit your needs. I say decide once and for all how much power you will have to use on the sub, and once you know what you'll be working with make a decision then.

Maybe something in the AA line. I would hit up there first. I also like the new Kicker CVX as a buddy has one off 1000 rms and sounds fantastic. Will be my next sub unless I can't fit it in. Have baby, so need some trunk room for baby stuff. I had an FI Q, but you don't want my opinion on that or the pics of what it did, lol!

well, i have no problem upgrading to a better amp if that will allow my sub the sufficient power that it needs, i just need the right sub to suit my needs...is getting a new amp as well as the xxx with the 3hp sub, my best option?

I think Hoss still has a couple Stereo Integrity BMs for sale, those will be okay with that power.
