12 " Sub recommendation - $100ish, sealed, 1.0Cu. Ft. powered by 300WRms @ 4ohm

So, would the RWE 302 would do fine in this 1.25 sealed prefab box I have here? Site doesn't really give ideal volume, aside from manual being in EVERY language.

Get RE Audio SRX12. It's a decent subwoofer with good sound with xmax of 18mm and it has QTC of 0.7 in 1.25 cu ft sealed box, so 1 cu ft box would be about right, but I'd put 1 to 1.5 pounds of polifill into it. Alpine Type S and Infinity Reference have xmax of about 12mm and a QTC that will be waaay to high in a 1cu ft box. Plus I have heard way too many build quality issues with Infinity subs.

I have SRX12 in 1 cu ft box, stuffed with polyfill. In my sedan it can produce way more SPL than high power front speakers can keep with, and I have only 250watt amp. SQ is pretty good. I get reasonably flat response from mid 30s up to 80Hz. The price online is about $100 USB and thermal rating is exactly 300watts. There are dual 2 and 4 ohm versions.

Odd, as specs say ideal enclosure for both is 1.25 cu. ft.

Don't believe the manufacturer specs. Load the T/S parameters into WinISD and see what box it will recommended for a perfect QTC. Perfect QTC should not a target for a car, but 1 cu ft box with these subs yields QTC something like 1.0 or above, which is IMO not great even with cabin gain included. This results in exaggerated mid bass and upper sub-bass, with a steep deep bass rolloff.

Okay, I trust you. And somehow this is all coming back to me now. Darn lying sub builders! LOL. Thanks for the heads up. Still leaning towards the RWE, but that's purely price motivated. Right now they seem like a steal for $80 Shipped.

I called "MB Quart" today, and talked to a nice guy in their technical support dept. Unfortunately they have no real data on the RWE series. He claimed those were sold during the "Rockford Fosgate" era and they have very vague information, including incomplete theile/small information. He claims that the boxes they build for them there are 1.75 Cu. Ft sealed, but would also work well in 1.5cu ft for tight accurate response.

So now i don't know what to think. I've heard .95, 1.25, and as much as 1.75cu ft. from the people who "made" them. When I plug the info I have into WinISD it came up with some bogus huge number.

Any of you guys that recommended them still running them? What type of enclosure are you use/are you using?
