10" Sub Recommendation

Looking for a 10” sub to fit in my Q-Custom enclosure in my Grand Cherokee.

It’s not the best box but fits where I need it to. It holds a 10” sub, .65 cubic feet of air space. I am somewhat limited on mounting depth of 6.5 inches.

The sub will be powered by a Hifonics Brutus BX1500D amp putting out 500W x 1 at 4ohm, 1000Wx1 at 2 ohm, and 1500W x 1 at 1 ohm. I know it doesn’t put out that much but those are the specs.

I’m looking for a mix of SQ and SPL, basically, SQL.

I listen to rock, metal, hip hop, pop and some rap. Pretty much some of everything

After doing some research and searching, the subs I’ve been looking at are the Alpine SWR, JL Audio 10W3, and the Sundown SA Series, Digital Design, and Dayton Audio.

Which of these or others would you recommend? Thanks in advance

I'd get an Image Dynamics IDQv3, wired for 2ohm, and gains carefully set not to exceed about 700watt RMS. It 's a good SQ subwoofer but it also has better sensitivity and more xmax throw than Dayton HO, so it should get louder on the same power, better sensitivity than SA-10, and more linear throw than JL W3. If that's too expensive, perhaps consider RE SEX10 (long linear throw, 600watt power handling, avg sensitivity, but better than Dayton IMHO).

Sundown SA-10. It will run you $185 shipped and is a beast of a sub! 600 RMS rating and they come in Dual 4ohm and Dual 2ohm voice coils. I have 1 in my Dodge Nitro and am only putting 500 RMS at 2 ohms to it and it's a dream! I go through CarStereoGiant for alot of my Car Audio needs. If you have questions ask for Chris and tell him Jason Nelson sent you. He'll help you out!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like I have many more options to research. Some I have already ruled out as they are too deep to fit into the enclosure.

I really like the DXI and I have owned most SQL subs RE Adire ID JL etc. The DBXI is one of my favorites and for the money it is even better. If you buy it and do not like it I will buy it from you. I was really impressed with the range it had that higher bass with that kick in the chest and the good low end which is sometimes hard to get both of those. Awesome sub and I am really suprised that more ppl on here have not really used them.
