09 Sienna HDC 18s bass build log

So I got around to testing out the Alphard 200.4 today. MAJOR improvement over the ppi. At lower and mid volumes they sounded exactly the same. Higher volumes though its just like the alpine pdx. No peakiness, no speaker break up. Just crazy clean and smooth output. Hard to find the clipping point with this amp. Mids and treble remain clean at the highest volume levels just smooth like butter. The ppi felt louder still because basically at a high output level, the distortion and peakiness just sounded nasty and hurt your ears. This alphard is actually a lot louder but doesnt feel louder because its soo fking smooth. not sure how to describe it. @LosIsATool

Still in the middle of install and doing fiberglass door pods. so yeah work in progress.

Clean install ! JK I am going to get one of those 200.4 s !

amp cant be at the location where the ppi is which was under the passenger seat. as you can see the Alphard is easily double the size with spare change of the ppi. My dumb @ss wasted about 2 hours time listening to music trying to notice all the differences between the amps rather than finishing/cleaning up the install so i'm gonna have to pick it up again tomorrow.

That sounds like what I was talking about today when giving a demo. Buddy was saying how it doesn't sound loud until he was trying to tell me it didn't sound loud. When trying to yell over it it was noticed. That's clean output.

yeah the ppi is heavily dirty sounding compared to this alphard when pushed to the limits. Metal is actually smooth and buttery now at loud volumes... Before it was always in your face and rough at higher volume levels approaching 5 clicks away from clipping point. right now the output is actually about 3-4 clicks past the old clipping point level but It doesnt sound super loud, decent volume and just pleasant and enjoyable as hell.... until I got out of the car and realized my ears were hurting and ringing... holy f*ck i need to cool down on this sh*t that was bad.

Welp 1st part of the build log's in this post.

Also temporarily got the door baffle done for now so its playing, gonna fiberglass and seal off and make it look pretty when i have time

I lost the footage of me sealing off the sides of the van with fiberglass due to my LG v10 phone dying right after an LG mandated update.... bye bye all build log footages... oh well still got plenty left to do.

Agreeded. No one says wow it's loud. When I turn it down they realize **** it was loud my ears are ringing. Some times though the dynamics make you realize it's loud as *****.

well i can honestly say with the PPI bridged its way louder now than its ever been still great clarity. IDK the ppi 900.4 changed into a different beast when bridged. alphard 200.4 took a dump on me. Moderate volume played with the high pass filter ONCE for the first time and POP smoke everywhere. PPI wins in reliability...

You should port those fuckers!
they are technically ported, there's gaps around the baffle lmfaoo

Oh no way ? I was sold on getting the 200.4 once I was back from vacation at the end of the month, Guess I better just pick up a two channel and move my tweeters to it and maybe do the same as you did and bridge 900.4 to two channels for mids and your probable getting 450 ish per channel ? I have never bridged an amp but it appears pretty simple from what I have read ? Also love your build and your build quality bro, looks great. Only wish you hadn't lost the rest of the build !

i don't mess with hte xover networks when i have a lot of current going through, not a good idea..

I doubt i EVER sell this xenon 200.4

regulated power supply to avoids dips a real 200+x4 this thing is nice.

When I went meter the other day and i explained the system isn't tuned for SPL its tuned to sound great. so he gets in the drivers seat and about 10 seconds in i see him learn forward towards the center of the dash.. sounds like i have a center channel huh? lol

the dude was super cool and had some really good builds. not sure if hes on here or not but i'm sure glad i meet him.

FYI you should grab a pair of ARC KAR. seriously they are class H. about 70% efficient super strong and WAY CLEANER than the PPI. the 300.2 for the mids and a 300.4 for the midrange and tweeters. rated at 13.5 and very good design. don't keep wasting your time and monies!!

right positive left negative, RCA split the signal with female to two male and voila insta power. My PRV neo 6.5s actually drown out the PWX atm the the ppi bridged on them

thing is its moderate, not even a lot of volume. I did that with high volume on the ppi, no issues EVER.
