Whats up guys I'm new here - been around the car audio game now for about 15 years now at least. I started out playing with SPL stuff I found myself falling in and out of the hobby every few years. However I've owned this ranger now for a couple years now - Always wanted to have a good sounding stereo but was always geared more toward bass. This build is definitely going to put some of my abilities to the test I think and hopefully learn alot along the way. I've really been enjoying the build so far. I've started to gather parts in December, I'm just waiting for the mid-range speakers and I'll have all my pieces.

On to the build:

- Head unit: JVC KW-M650BT

- Midbass: 6" Audiofrog GS60
- Midrange - 2.5" Audiofrog GS25
- Tweeters - 1" Audiofrog GS10

- DSP - dB Drive Euphoria EDSP31v2

- Sound Deadening Material - Stinger Roadkill, Stinger FAST Rings

Midrange/Tweeters Amp: Audison SRX4
Midbass/Subwoofer Amp: Audison SR4

Subwoofer: 12" Audiofrog GS12D4 - Dual 4 Ohm

Wiring/Interconnects:
- KnuKonceptz 4 Gauge OFC Power & Ground
- Audison Connection BT.4.2 RCA - 4 Channel Input H/U To DSP 18FT
- Audison Connection BT.4.2RCA - 4 Channel - x2 - Output DSP To Amps
- Audison Connection Fuse/Distribution Block
- Stinger 9 Connector Speedwire

As much as I'd LOVE to try the GB series the budget just doesn't allow for it right now. Plus I really don't know how long I will be keeping this vehicle.

I'll be mounting the amps and DSP on the back wall inside the cab with a beauty panel, still lots of work to do in that department.

Picked up a center console from a second gen Explorer and put that in. Painted it black, and modified it to fit the DSP controller with some 1/8" plastic material, and some switches I'll find a use for later on lol. Also had some left over black suede from a previous build so I used that to wrap the boring cracked grey vinyl console lid. I'll probably end up using that material on the beauty panel for the amps

Looks nicely done and clean. But Firestone? ;) lol I'm a Cooper, Mickey Thompson or Bridgestone guy with tires on my SUV's and Trucks.

All in all once you are done the should sound decent. Are you going to sound deaden the floor as well since it is all out? Might as well since you did all that work already.

LOL yeah these fit the budget at the time.
oddly enough - I just got a deal on factory black carpet to put in to replace the ugly vinyl flooring. So I was actually considering deadening the floor at that point. Would it be beneficial though even for a setup like what I have planned?

Sound deadening is always a good thing if you can do it, will block out that road noise, tire noise and what not. For what you have planned you should be fine just doing the doors but with all that apart and if you have the extra cash now is the time to do it.

Thanks for the input. Definitely will be considering it. I picked up a proper set of rollers as well, sick of the brand name ones always falling apart. These ones I got on amazon seem solid

The GS line is a really good line. I have some GS 6x9’s still in the box. I have the GS12 and it has really performed well. One of my favorite woofers to date due to the price I paid and the small box requirements. I have it in a 1.5 aero ported box and love it. Super accurate and can get down. You have a sweet setup going on. I bet it’ll sound fantastic.

That’s awesome!! Glad your enjoying the GS12; I am definitely looking forward to it. I have not decided weather or not sealed or ported yet. Thanks for the kind words.

Get some butyl rope from second skin or resonix to put on the door frame brace to fill in the gap as well. That helps seal it up, MLV is good as well on top of the sound deadening material then put your oem plastic back on over it and the combination really makes a difference.

Got a few hours in today on the build. Got things pretty much situated with the amp rack to find I'm not 100% happy with the way the beauty panel turned out. I guess poor measurements on my behalf are to blame. I'd like to be overall a bit wider and taller, it just doesn't look right with it in the cab. I'm going to use this piece however as a template for the new piece, I think that should go together a lot smoother and quicker.

I used neodymium magnets to hold the panel onto the amp rack. Also used 5/16" bolts and nylock nuts to fasten the amp rack to the factory panel on the back wall. Wrapped the beauty panel in some left over suede material I had from a previous build. This was way more complicated than I thought it would be to wrap, I must of sworn 100 times lol Then again I have 0 experience in wrapping any material.

Was a little let down on how the beauty panel came out like I said in the earlier post. So that’s a bit of a set back, but I decided not to waste the weekend and get some deadener in. Would you guys recommend sealing off the bigger open holes?

I managed to some how use all the door kit on one door, 12sq feet. I did the inside door skin, and outside. As well As most of the inside portion of the door panel. I haven’t touched the passenger door yet I’ll have to order another kit. But it’s a significant difference when you knock on one door than the other. So hopefully it was all worth it
