04 GRAND MARQUIS!!! FIRST PRO BUILD!!!! 4 APLINE TYPE X's

whats up everyone. well after months of frustration i am finally ready to finish up my build. its been crazy. if you have been following my log you know a couple of months ago i had completed this build and ended up shorting out my amps from low voltage. well i thought i was screwed because i had no warranty on the amps. well i called hifonics and they hooked me up with one of there repair shops and i sent my amps off to get fixed. im happy to report that the amps are fixed and ill be receiving them back this week. It was nothing major wrong with the amps it was only 195 to get fixed. so now i have pulled everything back out of my car and im re installing everything with better stuff. i will start posting pics later of the work that i have been doing. I have one question though for anyone who have worked with grand marquis or crown vic. what is the best place to use for a ground point for my batteries in my trunk? other than finding a good ground point everything is going smoothly. tomorrow i will be replacing the wires i used to do my big three upgrade with 0 gauge. something i should have did from the beginning.

can you answer this? and man.... that ***** hardcore
my bad man i havent been on in a while been fustrated with my build but im finally back on the right track. i had my batteries grounded to my chasis. there is a small hole in the trunk and i ran my wire up through it and into the trunk. it was a pretty good ground. but now im trying to relocate my batteries to the little shelf in the trunk so i am having the same problem. finding a good ground. because from what i heard you dont want your ground wire no longer than 18 inches.

here are some pictures of my progress so far rebuilding my orginal build. yea yea i know that yal are probably tired of my build so am I. im ready to be done already!!!!!! anyway bare with me im a ambitious noob. ive been doing a lot of research and just going back over everything that could have went wrong with my amps and ive just decided to redo my project from square one lol. so as i post pics you will see the before and after so that you can see the changes that i have made.

yes that would be awsome. cause right now im kinda stuck because i dont know how i want to go about grounding it but yea please show me but um i just had ordered 100 feet of it so i could be sure that i had enough of it. i used like 75 feet of it just on my trunk. of course doubling it up in a lot of spots.

if you put your batts up where mines are and remove your back seat u can ground to the seat bolt its connected to the Chassis How much deadner did u use for the trunk?
dude i have to say that you are doing one hell of a job!!!! man thats looking good. im gonna put my 2400s in the same place you got urs mounted. now my next question is how hard was it for you to remove your rear seats? and the temp ground that you have is it a good ground spot? also great pics man. i see on your big three, the engine to chasis ground, was that the stock ground point? because on my merc its different. its connected to my engine at the same point but it doesnt go to the chasis it goes to the negative battery terminal. then i have the regular batt. negative in the same spot as urs. im going to take some pics tomorrow to show you cause i might be confusing you a little.

LOL the rear seats a few bolts and it was out have to remove the whole think the back end and the seat part!

well that ground i have now is OK but like i said it will be changed to seat bolts which are connected to the Chassis!

With the Batts do not drill cause the gas tank is right there all that stuff is Bolted down to steal Bars which a welded to the sheet metal on that rear deck!

As far as that BIG 3 ground i made that my Self and it was a pure B!t#h to bolt Down, u don't have to =bolt the other end where the factory is. but what u cant see in that pic i also still have all my Factory wires in in addition to my own

kool!!kool!! Im going to mount my batt ground behind the seat as well then lol. i have my amps mounted to a board. so what im gonna do is make me a batt box and then screw that down to the amp board. as far as drilling into the metal im not lol. i dont want to risk drilling into my tank. what i did the first time worked for me. i just got strips of velcro and stuck it to the board and to the carpet in my trunk and everything stayed in place. now i just have to find something on the net a how to or something to show me how to take those seats out in the back. i dont want to mess anything up. i want the seats to go back in correctly b/c this is a daily driver for me. what brand and size drivers are you using? well hopefully tomorrow i can start redoing my big 3 if i can find some terminals. i doubt it though. ill probably just end up odering a bulk quant. tomorrow.
