0 gauge fuse question

i was looking to buy the http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLM-AK0 0 gauge kit and i don't know what fuse to select. What determines the size of fuse, voltage going to amp? or the power that it puts out?

the only thing that REALLY matters is that the fuse protects the wire.

for 1/0 you can go as large as 300A.

But personally - I only use a fuse large enough to supply the amp, even though the wire could handle a lot more. It just increases your factor of safety, and having an unnecessarily giant fuse does nothing for the performance of your amp.

If it's a decent amp your manual should give you a maximum current draw. I would recommend a fuse close to that size.
