Doubling up Speaker Wire? Possible?

So I have this 12 gauge wire for my subwoofer, but I feel it's too small...

I was hoping I could twist together the two ends (the + and - on the speaker wire) together into one strand so I could have a bigger gauge.

Then do the same for another 12 gauge speaker wire so I have 2... will that work?

Also... I already had to take off my sub from the MDF enclosure twice, and I feel like the screw isn't going in as tight, anyway to fix that?

yeah doubleing up the wire is fine and done by lots of people. I have done it several times... If you want to repair the mdf to re screw into it... you can use some fiberglass bondo fill the screw holes with it and shove a toothpick into it... cut it flush and let dry... itll be as good as new in fact stronger... good luck

12 gauge is enough? I have a JL W3V3 sub powered by a Fosgate P450.4 amp...

The actual wiring looked kind of thin I was worried that it'd affect my performance. But if it won't make much a difference if I get bigger wire then I rather not take out my sub to redo it

Even if the wire is kinda crappy? Like I had some 12 gauge monster cable wires for my components, and the actual wiring of those were a lot thicker than the 12 gauge wire for my sub..

Reason I'm getting all paranoid about this is my sub isn't really loud, and the Excursion isn't going up and down a lot...
