And unlike that 4k I just got, the others are pretty compact. Very well built/designed. The JP are pretty, but I actually think that the stinger is a better amp.

Sounds good, does it have a clip light so I can attempt to tune it myself?

My 4K does, not the smaller ones though. Don;t know of anyone that can see those buggers when they are driving along, just say'n. Set it where it's comfortably loud, should be good to go.

Actually, there is a power and a protect light, no clip light on the .7, 1, 1.5 or the 2k. The 4K does by using the power as a dual purpose protect/power light.

Thye saved that for the Epic line.

There's a clip light on the amp not the knob

All I need, I already have a Stinger knob in the car but its super sensitive, It only has a about a hair or 2 of turning radius until it becomes almost full volume, the difference from that point to max is just extra distortion it sounds like. I wonder if the knob is bad, because the wiring is ok.

If you get the 1-1.5K Stinger, you should have more than adequate power and really should never be anywhere near cliping, just should not come into play.

But this is a decent way to set it up then turn it down a bit by ear:

For the Stinger amps the white "marine" version does have a clip light on the amp.
