Looking for some advice on the best way to configure this.

1). Do you recommend starting a new configuration with the eq set to flat, super bass, powerful, or a smiling eq? The head unit is a pioneer 6800BS. It defaults to powerful mode even when I do a system reset on the headunit.
2). What do you recommend setting the LPF at for a subwoofer which has a frequency range of 34hz-250hz. The subwoofer is in a sealed box that is primarily used for listening to rap. I am looking for as much bass as possible while trying to remain distortion free. The sub itself is a Punch 12" P3S Shallow 4-Ohm DVC Subwoofer | Rockford Fosgate ®
3). What should the ISF be set to on the amp for listening to rap music. The sub itself is in a sealed box with 0.84 airspace.
4). What +-DB should the bass test tone be when configuring the setup for rap music?
5). What octave roll off is recommended to maximize the bass when listening to rap music -6 or -24 octave? What exactly is the difference
6.1). Should I keep LPF turned off on the headunit or match it to what the subwoofer amp is set to?
6.2). Should I leave all of LPF and HPF turned off on the headunit if LPF is set on the amp itself.
7). If my amp has an LPF at 80 what should my HPF be set to and what roll off octave to do you recommend for HPF with rap music?
8). Should I use loudness at all? It offers four settings low, mid, high, and off.
9). Should I have bass boost on at all?
10). Is it okay to have SLA maxed out at +4? The bass seems to hit just a little bit harder when its turned up. Does this setting cause alot of distortion?

eq flat

id use the decks crossovers. around 80hz for sub and mids. i use 24db slopes

bass boost off. loudness off

ssf off

heres how to set the amp gains. test tones are at the very bottom

Always set the sub sonic filter i.e SSF to 4-5hz lower then your tuning frequency of the subwoofer box. Use a 40hz test tone not 50hz when setting up subwoofer and you can use bluetooth on your phone with a test tone generator built for doing that as well.

Thank you guys, what about SLA is it bad to have it at +4? Will it introduce more distortion into the system?

Also what is auto level on pioneer decks used for?

Thanks again!

Not a worry for the Op...

I'd set the SLA where all sources are relatively even and undistorted. I never had SLA introduce audible distortion... its there to even out source levels. Bass boosted music and poor recordings have though so I avoid that stuff.

If your looking for bass, using a P3 shallow in a sealed box is your biggest problem.

I know, but there aren't too many boxes that fit my vehicle. Its inside a corvette. If you know of a box that can support a normal sub and fit in a corvette I will definately look into it ASAP. I kind of hate my bass being so limited to shallow mounts and certain boxes only.

For the bass itself where space is severely limited is one 12, two 10's, or three 8's better? Keep in mind that its primarily playing rap music so I'm looking for as much bass as possible with severely limited space. There is only 13" of height up to the trunk. I can't even fit a normal 12" sub box in the car, with the sub and 3/4 mdf used for the box it's higher than 13" clearance. I use this box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NAQ2WUM/?tag=caraudiocom-20

I am definately open to getting a new sub box, but I want one that fits nicely and supports a full size sub in it.

What all would you install in it to have a good sounding system with some nice bass in a c5 corvette.

I'm totally open to changing my setup if I can have a better system overall.
Right now I have a pioneer 6800BT as my headunit, two pioneer TS-A 6.5" speakers in the doors, a kenwood 9106d as my mono amp, and a single rockford fosgate p3sd4-12 in a shallow mount box.

What's your available space measurements h x w x d roughly?
Even a pair of 6.5's done right impress most people.

One of my buddies has a 1 ohm subwoofer with a box available for purchase. Is there any issue with running a 1 ohm sub on a 2 ohm amp? My amp is KAC-9106D capable of doing 1000 watts at 2 ohm.

With those size limits I think you will get way better bass out of 2 8's in a ported box than that shallow mount will ever give you.
Of course you will either have to have the box built for you or buy the plans and build it yourself
If you're so inclined you can contact Buck, he does box designs and his prices are really reasonable
These are dual 2 ohm so you can wire 2 of them in series/parallel to get a 2 ohm final load

I re-measured the trunk space once again with the custom box removed and its dimensions come out as 19 tall | 22 accross. The box itself could sit in this area if it needed to. Now what sub box do you recommend I put in this space thats 19 tall x 22 wide. Remember I listen to rap mostly so I want some nice hard hitting bass that will use the 2 ohms of my amp.

Also I noticed that my 12" shallow mount p3 4 ohm dvc has one jumper wire running red to black and one seperate speaker wire red to black which goes out of the box to the amp. Is this considered 8 ohms or 2 ohms? If its 8 ohms would it be better to re-wire it as 2 ohms? Will it hit harder?

8 x 400 = 3200 which breaks down to 56.56v to push 400 watts constant
2 x 400 = 800 which breaks down to 28.28v to push 400 watts constant

Is it bad that they have my shallow mount setup as 8 ohms when my amps is made to be used in 2 ohm and 4 ohm mode only.
What kind of damage can this cause?
Thanks for all of your help guys.

You'd be surprised at what a good pair of 8's on good power can do.
