Subwoofer turns off! Plz help!!!

I have a rocksford Fosgate 1200x1 amp with 2 p300 subwoofers and when I turn the bass boost up on my stock head unit sometimes the subs will turn off. They don’t just stop working but they will just turn off for like half a second and idk what’s going on. And the “clean” input and output lights don’t blink. (It’s all installed in a Pontiac g8)

OP, if your subs didn't turn off, you probably would have blown them by now. They are going into some kind of overload protect, the amp is. You're almost certainly exceeding the limits of your equipment by adding the bass boost. There's only so much bass your system is going to safely output.

My subs are quiet for being p300s normally tho. I’ve heard a single p300 and my system should be quite a bit louder.

Well, what wiring do you have, what kind of box do you have, where's the box located in the vehicle, there's a lot of factors into what makes a system loud.

i have the rocksford fosgate specific 100amps wiring kit. and its the p3 loaded enclosure made by rocksford fosgate. and its all in my trunk (its a pretty big trunk).

Amplifier comes into as well. How many watts are running into them and at what ohm? Buck has it completely right. Also just because the box was made by Rockford Fosgate doesn't make it correct for all music or the music you listen to. A properly built box with the correct tuning and size requirements makes a difference vs a stock box they sell you that is a setup for "general" purposes.

i have a 1200 watt mono block amp at 1ohm. its the r2 1200x1.

What are the subwoofers wired for? What are their ohms? As if they are running at 4 ohms or 2 ohms then they won't be getting all of that wattage. I am betting a proper box built to what kind of music you listen to for your vehicle would make a world of a difference. @Buck does designs for custom boxes every day all day long. He sends you the designs based on what you listen to, the subwoofer make/model and for the room you have available.

I have no idea what the specs are on the RF loaded enclosure(s). Um, hmmm.....it almost sounds to me like you just need a bigger system overall. If you want louder, I think that's the way you gotta go, or settle for about the same loudness you have. You could try to build a custom box, iirc RF recommends decently high tuning, I haven't looked in a while though. Their boxes might be at something like 38 hz. But it seems to me like you've gotten normalized to your bass, you may want to consider upgrading. Custom boxes are really like the most important part of sub system, if the box isn't good, nothing is going to be good, no matter how much money in equipment you have. So just some things to think about.

Also those P3's crave power. I have one in a 10" Dual 2ohm version and 1,000 watts to it just wasn't enough.

Edit: They claim 600 watts RMS and 1200 peak but go by the RMS.

I am kinda leaning towards what ohms are they running at and wired inside the box at this point. I know those P3's can get down when setup right.

Also what size P3's are those? Unless I missed that part in the thread.

yes that is what i have the 2 12 inch p3s the are wired for 1ohm.
