Arctic is one of the better ones. Gallium is better but damages your resale value and ability to upgrade later. I use OCZ freeze but it's all basically the same minus a few outliers that use cheaper thermal grease like they use on non-computer components like amps.
Yeah, it'd be pretty hard to keep that shiny. Even oxidized copper is pretty cool looking though. You could always coat it in tin. You'd have to use some kind of sealent on it I would think
Cooler paste is only important for overclocking and that's a whole other thing. The hardest part of (doing) that (right) is in overclocking ram. It takes a patience that can only be obtained by having another working computer lol.May wait to do OS install until after I do my cooler paste
XMP isn't overclocked, it's by definition what the memory manufacturer claims as the proper settings. CPU cooler by 5-10 C is normal for paste, yep.Not true on the Cooler Paste. Going aftermarket will drop a CPU by 8-10 degrees C. Been proven over and over vs the stuff they give you on a cooler or the junk white garbage they give you in some CPU's. So have to disagree there, the charts are out there.
Also these days XMP Memory is normal and most motherboards have XMP Profiles built into them so a click of the button and OC'D memory vs the old days. Which you can still do but eh XMP works perfectly got it running on this setup.
It honestly depends on the cooler. For instance, Coolermasters 360mm AIO kit came with MasterGel maker, which is honestly up there with the best. Not true on the Cooler Paste. Technically it is overclocked if it's running over like 2133. Xmp is just built in overclock profiles for ram. Also, it isn't called XMP for AMD, but yeah same thing.XMP isn't overclocked, it's by definition what the memory manufacturer claims as the proper settings.
