OK, so here is the situation. I have rebuilt a 1978 Jeep J-10 pickup truck as my sons first automobile. The truck is single cab and solid metal. I figure it's a little safer for him should anything happen. I have covered the entire floor, back wall, ceiling and the inside and outside door skins with a sound deadening product. Mostly for the reduction of road noise and stray rattling that accompanies a nearly 50-year-old truck. I have decided that a fairly decent stereo system is the next challenge.
These are my questions:
NOTES: I would like to power the tweeters and mid-range speakers off the same amp if possible. The subwoofer (s) off its own amp.
1. What would someone recommend for mid entry level tweeters? I plan to mount them on the dash.
2. What would someone recommend for mid entry mid-range speakers to be mounted in doors. Thinking 6-6.5" for size. I am not familiar with the types of speakers for this application. I "assume" these speakers catch the sound between the subwoofers in the back and the tweeters in the dash. That's the objective.
3. What would someone recommend (10"or 12") for sub(s) that will produce decent deep bass behind the bucket seats. I am fairly handy and can build a box if needed.
Listen, I understand that there are a ton of options out there. I'm just looking for a pretty good sounding stereo system suggestions for a typical high school kid. It doesn't have to be the loudest system for sure. However, he loves his truck, and I want him to be proud of his stereo system. Budget of about $1K..ish.
I appreciate you
