I’ve been out of the car audio game for the past 5 years and I have been wanting to get back into it, I have a current budget of $2000 to spend on Subs and a Amp, I already have the electrical from my previous build in the past. Could anyone recommend Some Good subs or a amp, I am wanting to Run a Single 18 On or around 5000 watts RMS. Thank you.

what vehicle?

2018 Ford Escape, i have around 60 cubic ft of room. and i would like for it to be loud and also sound good. i plan to have it as a daily use build not competition.

I think these would work. The HCCA will give you between 5,000-7,000 watts depending on your voltage.

I really like that Orion amp, I appreciate your help do you think the SP4 would be a better choice then the Team or BTL? Thanks.

The team 18 would be better. And, that amp can will give you double the RMS of the sub if your electrical is good, which is ideal. That team 18 is 3,500 rms. It looks like a beast.

im strongly considering both, thanks for your help

You could save some money ($600 cheaper) if you went with a Taramps MD8K one ohm version. It sounds like your electrical wouldn't have a lot of variation. Taramps like a consistent voltage around 13-14v. Plus, the Taramps would draw significantly less current than that Orion since it is a full bridge amp. The MD8K is 8,000 @12.6v. At two ohms, the MD8K one ohm version, is still over 5,000 watts.

what’s the deal with Taramps? I see that there a lot cheaper then most amps with the same wattage, what’s the catch?

The catch is that they like consistent voltage. They don't like under 12 or over 16v. Also, if you buy the one ohm version of a particular Taramps amp, then, you should only run it at 1 or 2 ohms. If you buy a two ohm version of a particular amp, then, you should run it at 2 or 4 ohms. The only exception being the Taramps Smart 3K, which is 3,000 watts at 1 or 2 ohms (weird) and 2,000 at 4 ohms.

Gotcha, As of right now I have a 270 amp alt a upgraded battery under the hood and 2 XS Power 3100’s would you think that would be enough for the MD8K or do you think I would need to upgrade more electrical?

That is more than enough, IMO. I'm not an electrical expert though. @Jeffdachef seems really knowledgeable when it comes to electrical. I put a led voltmeter ($20) on my dash directly from the battery, just for peace of mind.
