How long will it last?

Does it sound boomy around 50hz? In the model there is a huge spike in group delay.
That's weird... my models say its under 25... sounds not boomy either... just a little loud.

Course after a point its way overpowering the fronts and even allows me to just get stoopid loud... for what it is.... its almost distracting lemme say.

Enjoyable tho... hehehe

I'm surprised at how well the Sa-15 is just taking abuse and putting out like a champ... if Santa delivers this year I'm hoping to try a D2 and just go for it on 3K just to see what I can get out of one of these things with a slot and not knowing where the cabin peaks. I'm hoping for a meter as well but that's gonna be pushing the issue (or maybe taking up too much room in the sleigh).

I think I'm going to be forced finally to give some attention to my electrical. I still haven't metered the thing as is but I'm hoping it's where I think it is so the added power MIGHT get me to that #... I won't say it because... jeez... I been let down so many times.

I know from experience that meter can be brutally honest... 😂

@shredder2 i tagged ya in a couple posts to see if you can do this same thing for a couple other members if you have time good sir. Thank you for the designs btw, its appreciated

Helping folks pays off eventually, especially if they are legitimately decent people. A member let me acquire my newest family member today, for a fantastic price and I can't wait to hear the difference between the Sa-15v3d4 and this newest addition...

RE SX-18d4... I already got something all designed

Tyvm for the sub sir... you know who you are and we'll see if it gets louder (ha-ha) than the current setup, I'll be sure to give you the 1st demo... Thx again sir, I'll see it gets put to good use!

I've decided to go a little bigger and use pretty much all my space available, planning to start building the thing next week.

I've got some end results in mind for this one the way it models-up... I hope it meets those goals

Any predictions?

True... ^^^^.... so true... lol

Ill post pics of hard #'s eventually either way or it didn't happen I know.

Might try to meter the Sa-15 Sunday before it gets pulled-out.

But that 18 sure models-up nice.... louder and lower for sure... we'll see.
You should post some numbers from that little kicker too. How much power are you running to the 18? About 2-2.2k before rise?

Fwiw a 148 in the mid 30s is when you begin to feel the wind knocked out of you sensation.

I gave the L7-10 to my oldest and he's 120 mi away... the amp I've got is rated at 2125 into 2 ohm for what that's worth... lol... I'm on stock electrical, lead-acid die-hard gr34 batt with Big 3 only at this point. Who knows where I am power-wise ya know?

Still pounds nice as 1 member on here can attest... I'd put the 15 around 146db+ conservatively... hey... I'm not dumb enough to claim some crazy #...

Been there got the scars to prove it too... meter can be brutal

I'd say it is different for everyone though.  I was a bit nervous about sitting in a SUV that can go above 155db, but it just depends on what frequency you get that loud at.  I've yet to experience that chest compression sensation at a high level, but it is only a matter of time I suppose. Everyone reacts differently though to frequency at high amplitude.  Some more tolerable than others I suppose.

It was a system from 2 vehicles ago. The enclosure was rock solid. Had a P9 combo to deal with whatever equalization was going to be required.
