xbox live questions

Im thinking about buying an xbox 360 and I want to run live with it. Here is what I have:

broadband connection to my router in living room (hooked up to living room computer)

here's my router:

linksys pci adapter to the computer in my room (where the xbox will be)

What would I need to use my wireless connection with the xbox live?

So far from what i've researched, a wired connection is the best way to go, how do I do this?? Does it connect to my bedroom computer via ethernet cable? Or would I have to run a cable from the router in the living room to the xbox?

have to hook it up to your router, atleast thats what i know....don't know if you can hook it up to your puter thats running wireless

Just that.

If you want to have a wired connection then you'll need to run an Ethernet cable from the router to your 360.

What about a wireless connection? Would I just have to buy the xbox network adapter (second link) and be done with it? I've read that my router is compatible with xbox live.

My friend uses wireless and doesn;t have any issues. As long as you don't have a bunch of metal or walls in the way, should be fine.

My internet speed is only 256kb/s is that fast enough for xbox live?

I didn't want to pay 100 bucks for a wireless adapter so I had a 50foot cat5e cable ran to mine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i'm just glad my internet is through my cable company, so the router and stuff is in my room and is oh maybe 4 feet away, maybe less....

just buy a cheap Linksys WRT54G and put DD-WRT firmware on it and use that as a cheap wireless connector. No need to buy the expensive Microsoft one.

can't answer that one for you

i've done some more research and some say 64kb/s is the minimum and others say they wouldn't even try it with 1Mb/s.....anyone at all???
