WTF!? multimeter/gains problems

as mentioned...

1. make sure the setting is on AC voltage. if there's multiple ones, use an appropriate range. take the square root of the (max rms wattage of the amp for one channel times the speaker/sub's nominal impedance) and that should be the voltage you should expect.

2. make sure the leads are secured on both ends (meter---amp speaker terminals)

3. make sure the dmm works. batteries may be good, but the dmm may not be. a good test to this is setting the dmm on just resistance/ohms, and touching the leads together. the resistance should read 0 ohms. if this works, voltage readings should most-likely work also.
