a 1000w sony xplod amp will do ~ 350w rms max. The 1200w sony xplod will do 400w rms max.
Had the 1200w and it didnt do 500 without clipping.

Yea, the fuse rating will allow for 500w but the distortion level is pretty high at that power.

Draws some major amperage as well trying to get there.

That amp you have is as bad as that sony he has. The sony is good for about 500 rms, where as yours is about double. Both overrated junk IMO. I think itll be a close run. Those P2s will really shine in the 40-55 hz range too, which will easily be louder than a box tuned low like yours, but only on certain songs. If i recall correctly those rockford boxes are tuned to something like 44hz. Very peaky and sound like *** on anything other than rap. I personally have never heard any good downfiring boxes in a vehicle, i think i read that yours was downfiring. I feel 95% the same way. My 5% is that I tend to be or try to put things in a nicer manner. And X2 on down firing boxes. I did 3 of them for my truck and didn't like a single one of them.
