Car is quiet now just flexin' on the roof a lot!...LOL!

o i c I used something of the like....Cascade something in a form of a spray can and did exactly that. I didn't like it. Over time, it flaked off. Even with a clean surface.

What's needed is mass. Something like 2nd skin, Dynamat, etc.

I'll use 3/8" thick MDF kerfed to conform & liquid nails to hold it to the roof as well as the crossmembers... eventually I'll run some X's and put some REAL power to them... Yeah some MASS!

Yeah i think I'm leaning towards the skar rp2000. It made more power for only a few more bucks. But I'm still looking for that killer deal like a dd m2

The issue I'm having is cheap power versus more expensive power. I understand that cheaper amps for the most part will require more power and might not last as long. But I just looked at the dd m2 and the power was over 2.5k but for $800, what am I missing. I know dd is just high but what else are you paying for. I don't want to miss out on the good stuff because I wanted to be cheap. I did read some where that the better amp can fight box rise better as well. What I'm thinking is that a lot of these amp are showing cool numbers on dyno runs but once connected to a sub in a box that number will drop due the box rise. But that just me guessing and not really knowing.

What makes the DD so good is its overbuilt power supply. The chinese amps at 12v will see greatly diminished output and efficiency. Also, the dd will run about as low as you want to wire it.

From a competitors viewpoint, the DD will usually keep gaining driven into a modest clip. Chinese amps will generally lose when clipped

Those DD amps don't come cheap tho....Might look for a used one. See them from time to time on CL or even car audio forums.

DD's pricing is dealer dependent. I've always got my stuff for about 1/2 MSRP.

But since my dealer closed shop the new one in town wants msrp. So I won't be buying anymore DD until I find a better dealer.

I want a dd amp. If I could find a m1 for a cool price I might have to get it. I don't mind spending a lil more if I know I can either resale or keep it forever

What kind of efficiency does a DD have?

Is DD better than Sundown DC etc...?

Do amps have diminishing efficiency the lower the load goes?

I am also curious about box rise and amps potential ability to compensate?

Not sure how an amp could do that

Then it'll never sell at that point. Once a shop closes, typically things get marked down in pricing. He's being a lil greedy, in hopes to make top $$.
