Would this hurt the Type R?

from what ive heard they should be ported and alot of guys in here run that sub from 1000-2000 rms daily, in the right enclosure of course, so , no you wont have any problems

600? C'mon man, you don't see enough people talking about pushing type Rs with 1000rms yet? Check "the official Type R thread" you'll learn soo much about these subs, it ain't even funny.

Just because people are hooking up 1000-2000watts amps to them doesnt mean they are giving them anywhere near that much power. I HIGHLY doubt anyone is sending more than 800 or so to one daily.

It's always good to have about 20% more power than your speakers need. I've found out that my 1042d R's are very under rated as I'm giving them AT LEAST 600wrms. After a month of Bass Mechanik and 3 6 Mafia they still sound great. I've also come to realize that they need a minimum of 500wrms before they start to sound good(to me!). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1000 REAL watts, aka gained set with dmm and proper voltage is given, etc. still won't be 1000 watts... considering impedance rise.... so if you set your gain by ear and clip a 1000 watt amp to an R 12, it may blow. just be smart
